FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Sponsors Crank Up the Payoffs for The UFo “ThunderDog Showdown at Dog Hollow Sept 24-25-26

(Mars, PA)  As the countdown continues for Dog Hollow’s biggest event ever, the payoffs continue to increase for The UFo “ThunderDog Showdown” on September 24-25-26.   Ritchey Sandblasting of Woodbury, PA, G & R Excavating & Demolition of Tyrone, PA, Lias Tire of Indiana, PA and TH Port-A-John of Mahaffey, PA  have added sponsorship funds to increase ALL division payoffs for this massive event.

The UFo “ThunderDog Showdown” will be a total late model phenomenon showcasing three late model divisions and four late model features.    UFo Super Late Models, Semi-Lates and Crate Late Models will star mpetition in this mega-event along with Cadets (street), Hobby (pure stock), Roadrunner (4-cylinders) and Cyclone Late Models.

UFo Super Late Models will race for a total of $7,250 to win.  The “Flying Floyd Kline Klassic” on Friday, September 25 will pay $2,000 to win and $200 to start with $125 for non-qualifiers.   Additional payoff has been added through the last 17 positions of the “ThunderDog 55” feature on Saturday, September 25.    This race will now pay $5,250 to the winner, $1,000 for 6th, $500 for 12th, $425 for 24th and $400 for 27th with $150 for non-qualifiers.

Semi-Lates (steel block/limited/crate option) will race for $1,500 to win and increased to $150 to start their 35 lap super championship race.   Crate/Pro-Late Models have been boosted to $2,000 to win and now $170 to start.  This divison will now run 35 laps in the “Ultimate Crate Challenge.”  Both divisions feature increased two-day tow money of $100.

Cadets (street stocks/pro-stocks) will race for $800 to win with additional start payoff $100 and two-day tow money of $75.  Hobby/Pure Stocks will pay $600 to win with feature start money increased to $60 and extra two-day tow money of $50.  Roadrunner 4-Cylinders will compete for $350 to win, with $50 start money and increased tow money of $45.

The weekend will kick off of Thursday, September 24 with a “Track Test.”  This night will allow all competitors open practice on the 3/8 mile supertrack to set their cars up for the weekend.

On Friday, September 24, the “Flyin’ Floyd Kline Klassic” will feature the UFo Super Late Models in a full racing program with a 36 lap feature paying $2,000 to the winner.  Floyd was the inaugural winner of the “Fall Fest” event held at the Challenger Raceway, so it is fitting that his tribute race be part of this new Indiana County fall event.  The Semi-Lates, Cadets, Hobby/Pure Stocks and Roadrunner/4-Cylinders will compete in their qualifying heat races.   As an added bonus, the Cyclone Mini-Cup Late Models will also run a full racing program on Friday night.

On Saturday, September 25, the “ThunderDog 55” will feature the UFo Super Late Models in another full racing program with $5,250 going to the winner of the 55 lap championship finale for the circuit.  The Semi-Lates, Crate Late Models, Cadets, Hobby/Pure Stocks and Roadrunner 4-Cylinders will all race in their consolation and super championship feature events.

UFo rules will apply for the Super Late Models.    This event will use an open compound tire rule with a 16 ¾” cross section and 93” circumference limit for the Super Late Model cars.

Simplified, multi-tier rules have been established for the Semi-Lates, Cadets and Hobby/Pure Stocks for this event. These rules are similar to those used at the Challenger Raceway and will allow virtually all cars in the region to be legal and competitive.  Full rules for the event for all divisions may be found at http://www.doghollow...OG-50-RULES.pdf.    Super Late Models, Semi-Lates, Crate Lates and Cadets will run under the UFo format while Hobby/Pure Stocks & Roadrunner/4-Cylinders will run under the regular Dog Hollow format.

Semi-Lates will allow limited 360 c.i. cars to run at 2,325 weight, econo/RFH type cars to race at 2,330 weight, open steel blocks at 2,425 weight and crate late models at 2,200 weight with an 12” spoiler.  Crate Late Models will compete under CARS, RUSH or FASTRAK rules.

Cadets will have a 2,600 weight for 602 motors, 2,855 weight for 604 motors, 2,850 weight for 360 spec motors,  3,000 weight for 412 standard cars.  The 3,100 open category will permit more racing-type equipment to be utilized on the cars.

Hobby/Pure Stocks will run under the Dog Hollow general rules.  All cars must meet the standard track specifications.    The standard weight is 3,300 for cars without a triple disc clutch. Cars with a 602 crate motor may weigh 3,000.  Cars with a triple disc clutch must weight 3,400.  Additionally for this event, Hobby/Pure Stock cars without headers and a triple disc clutch may weigh 3,200.     The track rules will apply for the Roadrunner/4-Cylinders.      .

The rain date for the “ThunderDog Showdown” will be the following weekend on October 1-2-3.  Each night the pit gates will open at 3:30 with grandstands opening at 5:00 and action starting at 7:00.

“Track Test” prices on Thursday, September 24 will be $5 for the grandstand with children 10 and under free.   All pit passes will be $25.  A 3-day pit pass will be available for $95 on Thursday night with a savings of $10.

Are you really saying that a guy who's racing a crate and a super has to pay an extra hundred " registration fee " for fuking what ???? It's less than 100 to register for a marriage license in allegheny county .....

So........paying 95$ for a "pit pass" then they are deducting money from pay outs for a registration fee??? Guess 95$ isn't enough to charge........

All UFO races have a registration fee deducted from ur pay. Usually $25 so really $15 Friday and $25 Saturday isn't to bad. On the other hand the extra $100 to run multiple classes is total bull. That's just padding the pocket for the back gate they loose on it since the same crew likely works on both cars.
