Overreact much? I think you should take a look around this place before you post. You're gonna get eaten alive if you don't have thicker skin than this.Apparently he is not as informed as you think. Yes, there are a lot of local kids that race and a lot of families and friends who want to see them. Who cares if its about the "back gate". The last I checked this was not a non profit.
So tell me again how a 10 minutes race is going to put a wrench in your plans? Its unreal to me that so called "race fans" are so outspoken about kids. But I will stand by my original comment... check the car counts and cut where there isn't one to support. After all it is a BUSINESS.

First of all, I am trying to keep an open mind regarding this class. I checked the Deerfield Raceway website to learn more about the class. I don't know what you call a "lot" of people, but the results show Deerfield gets around 12 weekly according to the Deerfield website. There's like 19 cars total in the season long points. If Jones Performance was not paying to sponsor the class, I seriously doubt they would be part of the show. We will see how it goes. The class is not going to have a following outside their immediate family like the regular divisions at Mercer. How will fans react? Let's wait and see. What car does you kid drive racer 296?
I don't have a child that races but I do know of the class and I know a few people who race in it. I think you'll be surprised in what following they will have and different fans they will bring to the stands. Like you said we will see. I just hope for their sake they are given a fair chance.

Sorry I started this, I just never heard of a Jr. Sprint. Have watched racing for over 50 years, and never saw one. I guess I will now. Good luck to the kids, I just wish it wasn't on such a busy night. But, I have to clue you in, no track would ever replace a division with a 9 Horsepower class. JMO

You clowns constantly complain about car counts, yet when the future of our sport has a chance to race you cry because you have to stay up late to watch. Please feel free to leave early and get your sleep. When there are no drivers to race you can sit at home and watch football.

That's my plan. This guy isn't sitting through an 8 division show with 3 of them being go carts. You clowns constantly complain about car counts, yet when the future of our sport has a chance to race you cry because you have to stay up late to watch. My thoughts exactly! I was looking at the car counts for Mercer. On what was a double points night they had 410's - 18 Mod Lites - 8, 358- 13, OSW 13, Mini Stocks 12. Just looking at the numbers There should be no complaint about getting more cars there. Like you said clwillis if they dont change something and let someone new in their club then they wont have a track to go to.

I would rather watch ten 410 Sprint Cars than 50 Jr. Sprint Cars race any day hands down....not one person on this thread stated anything negative to or about this class...they just don't belong on a 3/8 mile track...I think it is AWESOME for the younger boys and gals to have their own class...

More thrilling that seeing a division that takes 30+ min to run a race because they constantly spin

Some of the cars in those "go-kart" classes probably cost more than your daily driver and will run a lap just as fast or faster than the 358s and close or identical to the 305s.

And they'll still suck. What's your point? Some of the cars in those "go-kart" classes probably cost more than your daily driver and will run a lap just as fast or faster than the 358s and close or identical to the 305s.

They put off some type of toxic fumes that make me want to puke every time I smell them in the pits...plus they sound really stupid...

Point being they deserve more respect than what they get it.

If you don't like the smell or sound of 2 strokes then you probably fly the rainbow flag proudly.

Absolutely! Deerfield gets fan counts at least in the double-digits to watch these cars.

The smell of a 400 plus HP engine running on 110 octane gets me warmed up...not the smell of a weedwacker....sorry
