If they had 18 crate Sportsman as reported, then there is already enough of them for a weekly Sportsman class......

Everybody wants to talk about how RUSH is a joke and bad mouth Vicky and talk about how you can cheat up a crate...but they are going to be the joke when they try all that and get caught.

Lernerville is hands down the nicest track in the area, there will be some people who don't come back, but there will be people who sell their open engine to get a crate and continue to compete.
The Friday night crate only sportsman race was just as exciting as a regular sportsman night at Lernerville. I keep seeing people talk about how slow a crate is and it's boring. In the meantime, on a slick track (like a lot of nights at Lernerville), the open motors are going slower than the crate motors because they aren't able to get their HP to the ground, they are just spinning tire.
You can't bash a crate if you have no idea how it works, how it runs, etc. If a crate sucks so bad and a crate is so slow please tell me how drivers like McPherson and Franklin and many others won all those races at their local tracks against open motors? (I shouldn't even say this because I know the answer will already be something along the lines of 'cheated up crates'...lol)

Lmao. The Sportsman mod winner at Syracuse was DQed for an illegal engine. If its done in those mods, its done in these stock cars. Crates suck and are easy to cheat. Its pathetic
Rusty Nuts He got DQed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With an enhanced engine se back and a weight break.
Talk up how great it is until you're blue in the face. The facts are that there are teams that will quit or run elsewhere that were loyal to the track for years. All your pandering to Vikki Emig can't change that.

I obviously have to more clear with you all. My apologies for the miscommunication. Crate motors are easy to "cheat up". Hence, make illegal. And in a lot of areas, they are easy to cheat with. New York Sportsman mods are 100% more likely to get caught cheating because of their location and the importance of good modified racing in that area. And of course the WINNER of the BIGGEST sportsman modified race at SYRACUSE in NEW YORK will be teched. Crate lates around here are semi-important but still dont go through most legitimate tech inspections like I believe they should. Making sure the seals are the same on the motor and giving them a pass? Total BS. Anyone can change them. They are available online. If they arent changed properly, then you sure as hell deserved to be DQ'ed or not allowed to race. And stock cars around here are completely different. They rarely get teched. And I will never believe any tech inspection where the motor is torn down by the guy that built it and the series promoter is standing right beside them.

@ The 358 and 604 had the same set back rule and the same weight 2900# they made the
358 have a 50# weight mounted up front.

When McPherson was torn completely down to the bare block at Lernerville, Mike Ingram helped take it apart (Because he is the motor builder) but he wasn't the one teching the car....RUSH has a motor builder that techs the cars. He weighed every piece and sent the camshaft out to be tested. Mike Ingram did NOT tech the car....get your facts straight or quit bitching. Again, when McPherson won this weekend at the stampede, Mike Ingram was there to help take the parts off the engine but did NOT tech the car, the RUSH tech person was there again. Mike is there to help properly take off and put back on the pieces that are teched. You obviously have no idea what goes on during tech, you just want to run your mouth because you know everything.

Personally, not that it matters, I like them being optional, and with the weight breaks they are obviously competitive. I don't like them mandating them for the backdoor money. Sure it has a frontside advantage for the track, but the sportsmen were just beginning to be any kind of a fan draw, and that may go away. There is a very real potential of this being one of those deals that makes money at first and costs way more in the long run, or it could work.
My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.
