You can buy a modified 500 2 barrell that flows almost 700 cfm. You need to level the playing field.

1 Stock Block

2 No Exotic valve compotents, Stock stamped steel rockers only. No stud girdles

3 Steel shocks only

4 Put them on a hard tire No groving or sipeing.

You could run any 4 link 3 link 2 link or Z link, That would be very easy to tech every night.

You street stock guys have created this monster your dealing with all by yourself.

Instead of trying so hard to bend and manipulate the rules and cheating to win, why not just build your cars within the class rules your racing in ? If that suggestion doesn't please you then either quit racing or move up a class. If building HP and wanting adjustable suspension is your desire then why do you want to race for less money in the SS class. Build a late model and race at any track of your choice.

***** If money and cost is your concern then your in the wrong hobby to begin with. *****

Years ago if you won too many races in the lower classes the track made you move up a class like it or not.

You want an entry level class ....... Completely 100 percent STOCK ! The only mods would be for safety .
Get caught cheating and your car gets confiscated and crushed on site at the track. Lol. After 3 wins in this class you move up. Eventually you'll end up with entry level drivers in entry level cars the rest will have either moved up or moved on to another track.

Even this will not work though without rules enforcement by the track and its officials which is 3/4 of the problem now so.....

My statement was vague and applies for all tracks and classes in the area. The tracks refuse to stick to their rules and also work with other tracks to make unified rules . Everyone wants to have a new class but the problem is when only 5 cars build cars for said class the track drops them before the next year. Everyone loses. Until the tracks tech cars efficiently and dq cheaters no matter who they are they aren't going to have the respect of the racers or fans.and the rules would be the same year after year. IMCA has been around for years. Why ? They stick to the rules and all the tracks have the same class. The Penn Ohio series seams to be where the street stocks are going to end up. So don't fight it. Run those if you want for $300. To win. Then run the imca pure stocks at $500. To win. You'll get the cars and the class back.

Racer777 I don't ever want to hear the words Crate Motor at Hummingbird.  I know people have different opinions on the topic and while I see the benefits to having everyone on the same HP level.  I feel like Crates Monopolize the 350.  I can build a more powerful 350 for less than the cost of a crate motor.  I feel like a claimer rule is a better option than a crate rule.  Incorporate a claimer rule at the cost of a Crate Motor.  give the drivers an option to build their own 350 or buy one from a catalog.  for the Pure Stocks anyway.   I'm all for steel body oil shocks and a tire rule for the street stocks.  Again the elephant in the room here, you need someone to enforce the rules.  The track needs a tech man that knows what he's doing.

I didn't say I liked the idea of the crates. But as far as the street/pro stocks are concerned that's where it's going. That's why you don't pay them shit and pay double to the pure stocks with a motor you can build yourself. Run both classes and let me know which one has more cars at the end of the year.

Ace no offense, but the current way your car is built, youd need the rules to go back to the early 90's to be competitive. This isn't Burger King, you don't get the rules how you want them.   I have followed your posts every time "rules" come up, and it would be very convenient if the rules went backwards 10 years because you wouldn't have to do a thing to your car.    My question is, when was the last time you made any type of investment into your car?

Pure stock or Street Stock, youre spending $ 100-125 a week minimum to run.    Since you haven't ran in some time, you should have a few thousand saved up to update your car right?

^^bingo! If you ask every racer in every class "what do you think the rules should be?" Every single one of them will spout off exactly how their car is built. I think it's been said a million times on here that rule "meetings" are worthless. Tracks know their options. Grow balls, make rules, and stick to them. No exceptions. Racers will learn to live with it. They are free to choose any class they can afford. If you think a class is expensive and out of hand, move down a class until you can do it competitively and have fun. If a class doesn't work, the track can change it from there. It should never be up to the racers to decide.

Why not let the drivers tech each others cars like they did in the small block mods class years back.

They need TECH men that will go to the track to check cars not just to get in free, watch the races and get paid for it.

Back when Jeff Taylor was going to open AMP he had meetings for each class separately and had allowed a certain amount of time for each... I told him you don't have near enough time for the two stock classes.. And.. He didn't... Thats fear for this. If they do have a meeting.. This has everyone all stirred up.. I have a buddy who just posted 2 cars for sale because he's sick of it..

I had a talk with a couple fellow SS racers in the past couple days.. And they agree that this or that should not have been allowed into the class... But that stuff is there now... How do you real it back without upsetting the guys that are there and that have continued to support the class? No matter what happens not everyone is going to be happy.. And no matter what happens if you leave the rules meeting it will get out of hand just like this post.. Everyone has their own ideas and they are the only ones that are right..
My opinion on our class is this.. Put a leash on them now.. There's not really much left you can do before they become clip cars or "chassis" cars..
Adjust a few minor things to allow cars from other places to come.
There's no "magic" rule that makes us all even.. There's always going to be some team who can outspend you.. There's always going to be that driver who can straight up outdrive anyone.. There's always going to be that one chassis that seems to be the "one".
If you been in racing for any amount of time you should know this.. If you don't.. Your head is in the sand, or up your butt..
I'll be there with my car next season.. Built to whatever the rules and my budget allows... If I can't compete then it's time to reevaluate my racing program not everyone else's!!

well put Animal!  I'm with you.  at the end of the day, while I don't agree with everything in the street stock class rules, I just want to race!  And I'm going to do that by any means necessary.

15 dollar gate fee is too much, they don't have a good enough show for that price!

Are you serious?  One meal at any decent restauants cost more than that.  If your not getting more than a cheap sirloin dinner out of a night at Hummimgbird, you need to find something else to do

They are raising the cost of admission to stands and pits BUT the payout isn't being raised, all that is doubling down with nothing for the racer and the higher fan cost! And you call me cheap!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is to much when what I'm paying is going for certain pockets and not towards the purse! I go and have 4 adult tickets with my kids ages, that's an extra 20 bucks when I'm on a budget. So guess that's 4 less fans in the stands and also stated it to some friends about the increase of 5 bucks and they said they won't be back
