If you are going to buy a new car why not just go 1st class and order a Longhorn ? Bobby Pierce Jr. is the only one drawing any attention to that Bob Pierce brand anyway.

There's no magic ..... It comes down to making the right adjustments and getting up on the fuking wheel. If I thought a longhorn would be better than the new Pierce I would buy one , but I know better.

Longhorns are the hot car this year. Doesn't mean it's the best overall car one can get. Capital had a fantastic year, too, and that flew way under the radar. Maybe they'll be the hot car in 2016. Maybe it'll be the Club29 again. Maybe it'll be Rocket. Maybe it'll be Swartz. Maybe it'll be Kryptonite. Maybe it'll be Pierce. Hell, maybe it'll be GRT.

Point is, just about any car can be a great car. It's all about how you set it up to fit your driving style. The nice thing about late model racing these days is the amount of options a guy has if he wants to change brands.

This is true. Testing is great for understanding what changes to the car do without have the pressure of racing.

There's just way too much shit you can change and making the wrong moves is a wasted night . 1 whole day of testing would be like 30 nights of racing .... And the top guys test all of the time

I think the top guys first know how they need to use the car, second can use it as needed and third understand what needs done to the car so it can be used as needed.

I think the top guys put their best guess baseline, which is usually better then most out on the track, read correctly on track problems and adjust accordingly.

I had a driver tell me one time if I want to see what the cars doing, concentrate on watching the first lap.  After the first lap he told me, he's already altering his driving to correct on track problems.

Yep and if it was easy, everyone would win every night.

When someone new wins, I sometimes hear, "yeah with the stuff they have, they should win every race!".  ... :)

Keep at it, you'll get your turn.
