This will be year #7 for me, and all I can tell ya , you will never see a program as awesome as this one.  And the weather looks to be the best in 7 years.  Do you have advanced seating ?

Track surface can be somewhat disappointing, lacking any bite whatsoever and being very rough. But the racing can occasionally still be good and its a gorgeous facility. If this is your first trip down there, spend a lot of your time visiting the NASCAR speed shops, the NASCAR hall of fame, etc,,, if you are interested in that stuff. Dont eat at the same place twice. Is Bruton Smith Blvd the one that has the Concord Mills on it?? Its a mile from the speedway and is loaded with shopping places, restaurants, etc... Pick up the pamphlets at your hotel and rest stops to see what there is to do in the area. You can travel around all day before the races and still run out of time. You'll be planning on things to do the following year. Hope this helps!!

If you like great homemade Southern food, head to Mert's in downtown Charlotte on College Street.

Garofola's Italiano Restaurant, sonny's bbq, and Lancaster's are all really good places to eat

Take seat pads, the seating is great but the aluminum sucks the heat out of ya. If your into the shop visits Friday is a better day, plan out before going done so you have a loop to visit. Go Pro Kart track is fun in Mooresville.

I spend a good bit of time in the pits last year but bought tix too late for the pass this year. If you have a car that is the place to see what the pros are doing.

jayt5353 this will be my 6th consecutive year down there and the only problem with going is that you'll never be able to skip the event again. For me, this is hands down the best weekend of the year. The 3 best divisions in the world with all of the best drivers. Track very rarely disappoints as I can't remember much bad racing down there, and last year they didn't touch the track all night once cars got on it for hot laps. To be honest, I've left the last three years thinking how can it get better, and then each year it has. Enjoy it man.

It will be my second year there.  Only bad thing is the dust was as bad as Mercer.  This year I moved to turn one hoping the wind keeps some of the dust away from that end and it's closer to the pits.

The pits are just one big loop, either end you sit on there is a pit entrance

I thought the pits ended once you got to the fence at last Sprint Car, you mean there's more?  ... :)

Yep, don't even think about going while the Late's are on the track, the line at the restroom is always the longest when their on the track.  ... :)

Thanks for the help.  I'll try to remember and correct it in the future.  I thought about which word to use when writing and my thought went to they owned the track at the time and it was their track.  Was this last 'their' ok?

... heck I'd better google it and study up on it.

Well I figured if you're gonna make a bad sprint car joke it might as well be grammatically correct

I highly suggest twin peaks and go pro motorplex also for your trip to Charlotte
