Doesn't mean you have to contribute to the guy ! If people are giving him money for help to make the track that's their business. If it's found out that he's taking advantage by doing it repeatedly then in my worthless opinion he'd be called a scum bag.

There's a lot of fans in the stands who wish they could race or do something for the show...

Maybe every car should offer a chance for fans in the stands to help them support the show, line the pockets of promoters and the rest of those, who feed off of the entertainment provided by racers.

Who started "go fund me" I suspect it was probably started by someone who saw a need and saw a way to make a profit from it.  Am I wrong about "go fund me"?  Tell me who in charge or organizations helping the needy, other then local help, doesn't make a six figure salary for their efforts?

There's dudes on there asking for money to buy knee pads and mouth wash to start their own pole
Smoking business , there's strippers asking for money for fake tits , some girl was asking for 20k to go test at Daytona , it's wide open to ask for anything it's up to you if you want to donate or not

I wonder how many people make one of those pages with a good sob story and use the money for something else. Like others said you can make it for whatever you want but how many are getting donated to under false pretenses. So many scammers and thieves thes days its hard to determine the real people and problems.

I know I saw a gofundme post for the 7w of Logan Wagner to get to the Knoxville Nationals. He raised about $9500 just for that whole trip. What confused me is that just a few weeks before, he also had a post out that claimed he needed to take a week off racing because he was running out of funds due to the high cost. Yet, after Knoxville, he continued to race the rest of the season.

Personally, if i had a car, i would not be able to accept money from fans unless they were the ones that came to me first offering to help. I could not ask them directly for money to keep racing. Seems a bit low in my opinion.

HOWEVER, in a case where the gofundme account was raised for the Sportsman Modified driver whose car and trailer burnt down on the side of the highway, then I find the situation morally acceptable.

Rusty you get to determine what is morally acceptable by donating or not donating . People can ask all they want and you have the option of ignoring their requests

It's similar to giving to a homeless dude on the sidewalk. It feels pretty good to give to the guy that needs a new coat to get through winter, but if you feel like he's going to go buy some crack you always have the option to walk on by. The only reason to get upset is if you give him money for a coat and you see him the next day in the same old coat, smoking crack.

I absolutely understand that. It was just my take on the subject. Hence why I donated to the kid whose car burnt down but not to Wagner. Its all just my ideas on the situation
