https:twitter.com/hashtag/freematt                         I'm not sure I am understanding all of this? Logano wrecks Denny Hamlin at Fontana and breaks his back and causes  Hamlin to miss all of those races including his having to get relief at Bristol this year for problems related to that injury. Logano gets no fine or kicked out of racing for giving a driver an injury that it looks like Hamlin is going to have to live with the rest of his life.Heck Logano even laughed about the injury and said he had it coming. He knocked Harvick into the wall at the first race in Daytona and got nothing. Are they afraid his dad because he has a lot of money? Why,why, why ?

Logano was deemed the next big thing in NASCRAP when he was about 12, long before he was even in full sized race cars. He's like the poster child for NASCRAP's driver developmental system. They're not going to penalize him because they're more or less staking a huge part of the future on him, even though nobody actually likes the kid.

It's this type of shit that has Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart retiring from NASCRAP when they're youngish men. I'm pretty sure there's going to be more like them in the coming years.

racepace, you need to go and post this very same statement on the Logano thread ...you actually bring up something that I have refrained from so far, Logano is a spoiled rich kid that has gotten his own way forever...the "development" program is this:  if you have enough cash to pay a big team your kid will get in the development program...

Please go and post what you posted here on the Logano thread...

Like I saw on another site "Penske's Punks."

Although the #2 driver did indeed come from more humble beginnings.

Sorry BaconBits, in my 50 plus years of racing in one form or another i have never heard of a driver retiring because of another driver. Jeff Gordon has health issues his back and his family has a lot to do with his retirement. And Tony not sure if it"s money or sponsors. Take into mined these guys race for a living.

I wasn't saying they're retiring because of one driver, it's the overall state of the sport. Guys used to come into NASCRAP with extensive racing resumes and proven driving ability. It's not like that anymore, and the drivers coming into the NASCRAP upper ranks have less and less actual ability all the time. It's getting to be ridiculous, and established drivers are getting very frustrated.

BaconBits, i totally agree the way NASCAR has changed. It seems more about buying a ride with Dads money instead of working into a program with talent. Personally i"m not a big NASCAR fan i do watch only a few races a year.

Baconbits understands the state of the sport. They started catering to the yuppies who were only going to be temporary fans at best. Then they started to mess withsome of the traditional tracks that made them famous like North Wilksboro and Darlington. They started this business of a mystery yellow flag to allow fan favorites from going a lap down. The 3 green/white checkered flags instead of the race being the advertised distance. The lucky dog and a host of other reasons. These older drivers are getting out because they've just plain had enough.Look at the ones who hungered for a championship but could never possibly win one under the new format because they don't fit the profile of a punk youngster that might get some new blood into the stands. I cant blame Gordon for retiring as he would have had his 6th championship if they wouldn't have dreampt up this chase system. The old boys just are sick and tired of watching the stands being repossessed with fans running away by the thousands because of the new ways.
