Just received this picture. This is the car that Dick drove at Langhorne in 1971.  Look at the folks that helped take this car to the big race.   Not sure where he finished. Maybe Walt knows.

Is it? This looks like Larry Peters Chevelle that ran dirt locally in 1972, before he built the Camaro CV that Blackie Watt made famous. I recall Ralph Ouarterson driving the Chevelle at Mercer, (for the Mercer 100 Late Model Special). I thought Swartzlander ran  a Peters built Mustang at Langhorne.

Swartzlander did run a Peters Mustang at Langhorne one year. Maroon with white numbers. Somewhere I have a photo. Think this might have been the year after the Mustang, but not sure.

Here is a photo of the Peter's Mustang Dick drove at Langhorne in 1970. Looking at a You Tube video, he did drive the Chevelle in 1971. Dick finished 21st in 1971 and 16th in 1970. (Photo Courtesy of Larry Mickelsen)

I googled Langhorne Speedway.  Wow is all I can say about it and it's unimaginable today for me to think such a track existed.

It's a shame such a small part of the track was used for development.  The price must have been right.  Out of wanting to get back at the developers for taking such a great track away and since there is so much of the track now left wooded and undeveloped, what epa standards were not met on the undeveloped part?

Here's a link to google images of the track and again, wow on the track.

Rich, just go to You Tube and put in Race of Champions Langhorne Speedway 1971. There are three videos, part 1, 2, and 3. I believe the shot of the Chevelle is in part 1. It's just a brief shot during the pace laps, but very noticeable. What a field of cars, Geoff Bodine and Richie Evans in the front row.
