The BRP big block Modifieds will be running as part of the Chiller Thriller, but I have not been able to confirm if the Late Models will be dropped!!

Walt if you remember last year the turnout of Lates for a pretty big purse didn't draw a very good car count there are many reasons that you and others will have to explore but the bottom line is car counts for an increased pay out.

Fuk mercer , chassis tubes look like the balance of a cup car after the Daytona 500 after 1 race .... Most abrasive shit on powder coat I have ever seen ... I was there once and we hot lapped on a track that was about 2 hours of running in away from being ready to race on ... I wasn't impressed

Too bad. I always enjoyed watching the LM there and thought it was a good way to bring in non Mercer fans. I'm sure BRP will support it, but it takes a level of excitement seeing an entirely different class there once a year.JMO

Bringing in late models was the ONLY trip I ever made to mercer. Looks look I will not be back along with many others. It was always great seeing late models on a different track. I can see the rest of the classes at local tracks.

Talked with Frank Benic tonight and the Modifieds will replace the Late Models for this show.  However, there will be crate lates along with E-Mods. The Late Models will still have a Mercer date later on at a date to be announced.

GOOD RACING TO ALL!!!

Now that Sharon has teamed with the Penn/Ohio Stockcar Series, I will make an early prediction of 5 stock cars per Saturday night... especially after all the shenanigans that happened last year...they only averaged maybe 12 a night there last year...

Big blocks always put in a good show and have a good turn out at mercer. So I think it's a good move.

how many fans will big blocks draw vs late models is the $$$$ question. This is NOT NY, people do not flock to see big blocks at local tracks, if they did then lernerville would host many events!

the reason 8 cars showed is because mercer never advertised, nor would give out the purse. two teams called, and would have posted the payout and race, but nobody gave anybody an answer.  they said they put it in the Sharon paper, well, Sharon don't have no kind of lm anywhere. mercer screwed up....

I agree. They never advertised it, never gave out pay outs, never gave out prices till that week. Then ran it on a sunday afternoon which was a mess. What do you expect when you dont do any of the above.

Mercer has long been a track that for whatever reason the modifieds have supported over the years. I think it's a good idea. The only issue I see is pulling enough cars in due to the local speedway's that have the big blocks on a weekly basis.
