REVOLUTION SUPER LATE MODEL SERIES

Dear Fellow Promoter,

We are excited to announce the REVOLUTION SUPER LATE MODEL SERIES based out of Morgantown, WV!

The REVOLUTION concept is planned with the out-of-control tire bills dirt racing teams are experiencing on a weekly basis. After speaking with HUNDREDS of dirt racing teams throughout the tri-state area over the winter, the biggest concern for the weekly and regional super late racer was tire expense.

With that in mind, we have decided to create a regional super late series that will DRASTICALLY cut tire expenses by utilizing a spec compound rule of Hoosier 1600 on right rear, 1325 right front, 1325 left rear, open left front.

PERIOD.

Those are harder compounds which will have much longer life saving the racers money. They will know EXACTLY which tires to race with at each event, eliminating the scores of tires normally necessary to be competitive. Also, we believe this will allow the weekend warrior who doesn't have top-tier horsepower to compete as well as the CT525 sealed crate engines, steel block engines etc. since the hard compound on the right rear will limit grip.

So, we have proposed an ideal way where the weekly racer can compete regionally for a good purse without spending thousands on race tires. A program where the race winner isn't decided by money and horsepower alone. This is going to require the winner to drive straight, keep the car under him and a little finesse with that right foot...just like back in the good old days of dirt track racing.

We have included an attachment of proposed purse structures. You will notice we are not necessarily interested in the Dolly Parton-type purse structures. The traveling racer is more concerned with start money than top heavy winners share.

Not included in purse structures is “Tow Money” which, ideally would be $150 to each non-qualifier but we will leave that up to each race facility. Also, we offer an $750 per event sanction fee to help pay employees and contribute to our $14,000 point fund at years-end. REVOLUTION SUPER LATE MODEL SERIES will place an $100 entry fee per competitor at each event, also to help with point fund.

REVOLUTION SUPER LATE MODEL SERIES is a brand new regional touring series. We understand

we have to prove ourselves to some degree. We are very confident that this series and its rules, particularly tire rules, is rooted in sound financial principles-- taking away, for competitions sake, the huge advantages those with unlimited tire budgets and unlimited horsepower has over the weekend warrior. As a promoter, ask yourself this?---how many of your loyal locals attempted to qualify for the big race at your last nationally sanctioned event? Or worse, how many qualified? As the years go by, less and less locals show up for bigger races because they can't afford to buy “their” tires and they know they can't compete.

Can a spec tire rule save the racers money, boost car counts at your bigger shows and put more butts in the stands? We feel confident the answer is YES! And we are basing this on months of conversations with local racers who travel off-and-on and simple arithmatic, from a racers point-of-view.

As a former car owner, I am well aware the dreaded tire bill. But we can change this issue.

Now. Before we price our super lates right out of business.

Do you have the courage to think outside the box?

Please contact me, preferably by email at your convenience to book dates for the 2016 season.

Thanks,

Jimmy Henry

I'm not sure they are common around here, Jon. But they will last a long time saving money.

I think it is a concept with a lot of merit. What will keep someone from putting on 4 new tires for qualifying/ heat races and 4 more new tires for the main?

Good question, deadpush.

The right rear will be tagged (marked) and that will be he tire required for the event. Not sure it will matter much on the other corners because there will be very little tire wear and hence, not an advantage to bolt new ones on. In fact, it may be better to run the tires with a few laps on them.

I am open for suggestions. This series is being created COMPLETELY by the racers. This is your series.

10 events x 25 cars x $100 entry = $25,000
$14,000 point fund.
Doesn't sound like it's really for the racers. Taking $25,000 from them, giving $14,000 back.

You have to protect the racers from themselves...qualify and start on the same tires. ..you can only change a tire if it is flat.

So not a full field because of the tire rule?

Not really for the racers...Really?

The spec tires I came up with was from the racers. Do you understand how much racers are saving using these compounds?

Do you realize the revenue tire companies are losing by me utilizing this spec tire for the series?

Where is the FIRST place a series runs to for money? (hint: its a tire company)

Who is the LAST company that will give my series money because of the tire rule I am using?

(Hint: its a tire company)

I have already shot myself in the foot with this tire rule. There will be no "purple" money for me :)

And I did this to help the racers save a tremendous amount of money.

As far as me making money from organizing and running this series, sorry. I don't work for free.

If you're not getting any purple money then allow American racers also. There are guys with tire deals from them and I'm sure they would like to compete at your events but you're making them buy a different brand for more money than they get from their deal plus the added inventory.

That's been discussed. Truthfully I couldn't care less which brands were run but most of the racers said to go with Hoosier only  because that is what most racers run anyway. Nothing against AR but it is easier this way. Different brands run better at different tracks. Pretty soon you end up buying both brands(just in case) and end up with 4 compounds to run.

Another Late Model series. Just what's needed, more division. Where are all these cars suppose to come from. Good luck.
