Awesome for Dale and Frankie. Gus was before my time but I'm sure many on here have memories of him.

Maybe Walt or a historian could correct this, but I think I saw one of Frankie's final sprint car races...a wingless show at Sharon.

Frankie's last race came during Ohio Speedweek in 2000.  He won at Fremont then the next night had trailer issues and didn't make the feature and called it a career.  The race at Sharon was a couple weeks before.

My personal feeling Gus should have been in the Sprint Car HOF a long time ago. Glad to see Dale and Frankie get into the HOF.

Dale Blaney is a dam good driver. My question, comment is, Dale's career is not over. Gus Linder is gone, Frankie Kerr hung his helmet up years ago. I think there is many capable driver's that could have been inducted ahead of Dale. I do believe a spot is waiting for him. But, most if not all HoF's say you must be retired for x amount of years. There is many guys from all over the place that have the potential to be included in that special place, a hall of fame.

There is an age limit for the Sprint Car Hall of Fame.  Can't remember what it is probably 50 or 55.  Once a driver reaches that age he can be inducted into the Hall of
Fame even if he is still racing.  Steve Kinser, Sammy Swindell, Jac Haudenschield and Dave Blaney are all in and still driving. and Freddy Rahmer was inducted before he hung up the helmet.

GOOD RACING TO ALL!!!!

And by the way, this is quite an honor for the Blaney family!!!   There are a couple of other fathers and sons in the Sprint Car Hall of Fame, but this is the first time there has been a father and TWO sons!!!   Lou, Dave & Dale.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL!!!

Walt

Cannot disagree with that Walt. Always hoped Lou would have won up at Syarcuse.

The age would have to be 50, because Dale isn't 55 yet.

My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

Ralph Quarterson should have been inducted years ago.

Do you mean the super modified at Sharon Speedway in 1960? Or maybe the modified champ at Butler Speedway in 1960. Perhaps you mean the Lernerville sprint car champion in 1968, 1969 and 1971? He had 47 sprint car wins at Lernerville. And the Lernerville coupe division champ in 1971. Or the ASCoC champion in 1970. You could also be referring to the gentleman who won the Western PA. Sprint Championship at Mercer Raceway in 1966, 1967,1968,1969 and 1979. Second in sprint car points at Mercer in 1971. He was also the Blanket Hill supermodified champ in 1968 or 1969.

It is a sin that Ralph isn't in the HoF.

Walt how do you go about getting a nomination ballot. I agree Ralph should be in the HOF. Also, any chance of seeing Herb Buck in the PCTC  HOF any time soon? I feel he payed his dues more than once.

See, that shocks me, Ralph Quarterson not in the HoF is unjust. Totally makes no sense.

To get a nomination ballot you have to be on the panel that makes the selection.  I think there are some 40-50 nationwide on the panel, mostly media members

Hi Walt....I thought I just read something that said people can submit a bio on a driver to the HOF to enhance the driver's chances to get on the ballot. Do you know if that is correct, and to who it would be sent? I would put something together for Ralph if would help.
