Its been a while since I bought any race gas, but since a barrel of oil is now cheaper than a bucket of chicken, has race gas came down too, or are they milking that cow as long as they can?

My guess is you will not see a reduction in price because current stocks of race gas were purchased prior to any reduction caused by dropping oil prices.  My next guess is if the current price of oil goes up a 1%, current stocks of race gas will go up 2% in anticipation of higher race gas replacement costs.

Race fuel doesn't really rise and fall with market gasoline prices. You don't see fluctuations throughout summer as regular prices go anywhere from $2-almost $4 and back again. It's such a small market, there are no politics involved in setting the price. It only changes due to long term inflations of prices. You won't see it drop, because the prices we see at the pump are short lived. It may be a few months or a couple years, but gas WILL go up again. Long term, it will ALWAYS go up.

It is not sitting around on a shelf and if it is .. it is going bad ! gas doesn't last very long unless you put additives in it .. if oil is $40 a barrel in april it should go down. Or ya, its time to call a distributor and buy a 55 gallon drum. long term like a couple years gas should stay cheap ! what has happened in Washinghton Pa has changed the world market .. Everyone knows now that there is more oil and gas in western Pa/ Eastern Ohio and northern west va. than the middle east and Russia put together. Those Moolas are selling bellow there cost just to be able to sell it over here and the caps are back on the wells here.. so cheap gas is great unless you have a lease with Range resources like many many people around Western Pa do .. Its Why  you see the governor frothing at the mouth like a rabid dog every time the word gas is mentioned and the reason Pa doesnt have a budget ! .

Range Resourse's. MANY PEOPLE. Because the price has dropped and because the Govenor wants to tax the shit out of them they have pulled the majority of there equipment out of PA all together. A friend has to drive to west virginia weekly. Most of those drilling rigs are sitting over the state line in Ohio. Gas in it's natural state can last up to a year. Longer if the container in which it is in stays FULL and sealed. Racing gas is nothing more than gas with added additives, the additives is what breaks down, not the gas itself. Each manufacture of RACING GAS has there little mix of additives that is included in there final product.

One manufacture, (sun oil) may have as many labeled (rush fuel-cam 2-etc. etc. you get the point) customers as they want. A good friend supplies a product to the food industry. Out of his location, there is 8 different labels on the same product. One store sells it at a much higher cost than the lowest store, which by the way is Wal-Mart.

But, as for gas prices being down. The goverment is not going to let this go on much longer. It makes the unemployment rate look bad. We all understand how politicians are looking out for us.

DavyLee2 - Do you have any data to back up that claim? The sad part is there will be one person who will believe the words you said.

Most of the wells being drilled around here are methane based and not crude based. Some of the richer gas will provide ethane and propane but some can be sent straight to your furnace burner tip
