I know extreme long range target shooting is a big pass time for the people up around meth mountain .... Do you guys think I should go with the nightforce beast or the Schmidt and bender pmii 5-25x56 ? Either one is going on a spuhr billet mount ?? I just figure meth mountain residents would have the most inside info on shooting 7 dollar lathe turned copper projectiles 2000-3000 yards .... Let me know the custom components are all order just trying to pick a scope ....

When your not poor you use a Trimble nomad to develop your firing solutions . So yes you have to dial up the correct firing solution into the scope and you have to acquire the target and not flinch when stabilizing the back of the rifle and squeezing the trigger. It wasn't my gun it was a Dave Bruno precision custom .300wm with a BAT action in a McMillian chassis , bartlein barrel with a 20 power leupold Mark 4 naturally they were hand load 210 grain VDL bullets. I'm building a .408 CheyTac with a much higher end scope built by the same builder. I won't be working on hitting targets at 2k I'll be working on my groupings at 2k. Dave Bruno builds guns that flat out hammer but you still have to aim , hold steady and not flinch

Too late I'm already on a shooting forum , and they do love me ... and FYI I went with the Schmidt Bender 5-25x56 pmii with the Gen2 xr reticle on the spuhr mount in a cadex dual strike chassis with the skelatonized butt stock option , 1.450 tac .408 stiller precision action and a lilja 1.450-8" tapered to 1.250 at 32" with a 1:9 twist , for shooting 377 grain turned copper that has a BC of .996. We'll be starting off with 134 grains of hogdon retumbo and a federal 215m primer . The COAL will right around 4.590 , or .001 off the rifling for the test loads may have to push into the rifling as much as 0.010 with those extremely long turned copper projectiles. Guys are hitting well over 3000 yards with Similar set ups . I am looking for the right guy to flute the barrel and mill " HuckTac " into each side as well as make me a billet aluminum mag housing with the jonny Huck designs logo milled in. I also need a guy who
Can ceracoat in both Lamborghini green and black as a piece like this deserves a custom finish. Do you know anyone ??

After the movie came out, many gun dealers had a surge in sales for long range weapons. Why ? Who the hell knows. Are they cheap ? Not by a long shot. Get it. Gun stores are very popular down here in the south. They have a couple long range pcs. hanging on the walls. Unfinished, so you can customize it to your liking I would imagine. Just another toy. Some have race cars, some have motorcycles or boats. We all have our toys and many have a wish list. The older you get. That wish list gets a lot smaller. Don'T shoot, Don'T shoot. O, your a cop. Shit. JMO

Your actually right I have to see for myself how hard a 2100 yard kill shot is . I understand I'm building a Lamborghini to shoot that distance when Chris Kyle had a camaro and I'll be sitting there peacefully in a field while he was being shot at . So what I'm attempting is 100 times easier than what he did . That was part of it and my one friend kept talking about hiw he nails 12" plates at 1200 and I called bullshit so I went to the range and it's true . So I said fuk it I'm going to hit 2k. A gun that can hit at 3k plus is no different than buying a side by side to ride around in the woods. I'd rather shoot at targets 20 football fields away than ride around some stupid ass muddy trail freezing my balls off
