Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway Returns to UFo Galaxy Boosting Total Point Funds to Over $41,000!

(Mars, PA)The UFo Championship will once again land at the “Monster Half-Mile” at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway in 2016.  Miley Motorsports has scheduled a pair of UFo Super Late Model events at their metro-area supertrack.    The “Herb Scott Championship” will take place on Saturday, June 11 while the “Red Miley Rumble” is scheduled for Saturday, August 27.   This allows the 2016 potential point funds to climb over $41,000 if the full schedule is completed in addition to $440,000 in race payoffs.

PPMS has been the site of 18 UFo events since the inception of the tour.  The wide, racey surface at PPMS has generated spectacular racing and wins from deep in the grid.   The “Herb Scott Championship” will pay $3,000 to win. The “Red Miley Rumble” both will pay $3,053 to the winner in honor of Red.    Both features are initially scheduled to run 35 laps in distance.

Past UFo winners at PPMS include Gregg Satterlee, Jared Miley, Keith Barbara, Davey Johnson, Brandon Burgoon, Michael Davis, Josh Richards, Mike Johnson, John Flinner, Mark Banal, John Mollick, Bart Hartman, Steve Baker, and Al Atallah.   With the return of PPMS, all original operating tracks of the first year of the UFo Championship in 2008 are on the 2016 tour

The addition of the PPMS events has allowed a point fund increase.  The UFo Super Late Model point fund has been revised and will now pay over $30,000 based on the current 22 race schedule.   The UFo Super Late Model champion is slated to receive $7,000 if the full schedule is completed, with 8th place now receiving $2,000.

The 2016 point bonus fund will be fueled by long-time sponsors of the tour as well as new sponsorship.   Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic, American Racer, Lias Tire speedshop and Precise Racing Products speedshop have renewed their sponsorships and have increased the UFo Championship point fund ever year under the current format since the tour’s inception.   Ritchey Sandblasting of Woodbury, PA has come aboard as a new sponsor of the dual-late model division circuit.  As always, the UFo Championship will pass on 100% of the sponsors’ contributions to the race teams in cash or awards.

The UFo Championship dual division tour will take the green flag in just one month.   The “2016 World Blastoff” at the state-of-the-art Port Royal Speedway on Saturday, March 26 will see both the UFo Super Late Models and Semi-Lates begin their point chase through the galaxy of supertracks.    The Super Late Models will race 35 laps for $3,000 while the Semi-Lates will pay $1,000 to the winner of a 25 lap championship.   Port Royal has set the rain date for the event for April 9.

The “New” UFo Championship is proudly able to pay these point funds without the use of series membership fees and by keeping car entry fees to minimal amounts.  The reduced UFo car entry fees and elimination of membership fees saved race teams over $15,000 in 2015.  Race teams will save approximately $30,000 in 2016 because of this concept.

The 2016 UFo Super Late Model base point fund will be $30,300 based upon the current 22-race schedule.  The top eight positions in the point standing will be paid, with a strong payoff through the ranks.   The point fund will be paid based on completed events.  The point fund contributions for any incomplete event will be deducted from the total point fund.   The revised Super Late Model point fund schedule can be seen here:

http://ufochampionship.com/payoff/

The UFo Champion of the all-new Semi-Late division is slated to receive $3,000 if the current 12-race schedule is completed.    The Semi-Late division will also pay back eight positions, with a total point fund of $11,300.  The point fund will be paid based on completed events.  The point fund contributions for any incomplete event will be deducted from the total point fund.  The Semi-Late point fund schedule can be seen here:

http://ufochampionship.com/payoff/

The 2016 UFo point fund is contingent upon fulfilment of all sponsor and track commitments.  Each track is fully responsible for payment of their full event payoff as well as their portion of the point fund to the drivers.  Any sponsorship commitments that are not fulfilled will be deducted from the total point fund.  UFo point funds have traditionally been paid out within a month of season completion, as soon as all funds can be assembled.

2016 UFo car and procedure rules are posted on the tour website.   UFo Super Late Model rules include open, steel block, spec and CT525 crate motor options.    2016 rule changes include shock and suspension limits that are in line with national series rules.   In 2016, steel block motors will be permitted a 10” spoiler instead of a weight break.   A new 406 spec motor option has been added to accommodate those cars in the area.

The new Semi-Late class follows the proven rules set that was initially developed at the Challenger Raceway for the class.  Several revisions have been made to the initial set of rules that were originally posted on the UFo website in an attempt to align the UFo rules more closely with individual track rule for these cars.  Limited 360, econo, steel block and crate motors will race together with spoiler and weight variances that will equalize the different motor combinations.   Cars from each category have recorded top finishes over the years at the different tracks where this concept has been utilized.

$3000 is a joke. You wont get any outsiders. The ulms didnt get one car last year. The knob will most likely have some specials that are unsanctioned or a lot of ohio tracks pay well like hill top, midway, ect.

Bob the problem is that 5 or 6k will get the same exact cars as 3k and the fans can't support paying that kind of money

I agree legend, but why even bring in a series if the same amount of cars will come. Its not like the series will bring in 10 more cars, a few may be.

I don't think it costs them anymore to have a UFO race than it would to have their own 3k race , so at that point any UFO advertising or extra cars would be a bonus

Racefan have you looked through the UFO schedule? I don't really see where PPMS is any further than many of the tracks. If anything that makes 3 of the tracks in the smallest radius out of the tour being Tyler county, PPMS, and Roaring Knob.

It's closer to the center of the tour being Washington PA than Stateline, Raceway 7 or even Winchester
