I would love to know just how Doug is back in bed with the Mileys to have races at Pittsburgh again. I remember a few years ago when he came on here and blew the whistle (post included here) about the Miley family trying to get him to alter the rules to favor Jared Miley. He also said he had to take the post down because he was threatened by a lawsuit. Some people are a glutton for punishment I guess. The best part is per the UFO rules, each track runs their own race with their own officials and decisions so whose to say this all can't happen again?

I do like the UFO races and support the series. Have seen some great races especially at Challenger.

BUT... How can they say their is no employees and each track is responsible for its payout, running the event, ect. I dont buy someone is giving all their time for free to run this series with out taking a pay cut of money somewhere along the line. It just seems fishy to me how a series like this is run.

Jared gets the same tech inspection everyone else does. AND to be a certified rebuilder you put up a bond that your forefit of anything you sealed " pisses dirty " in the tech line. Having far superior skills and knowledge to the people your racing against can make it appear that you have a HP advantage. It seems the pure stock type guys always think the winner is running a gorilla for a hammer ... Once you get to super lates you realize you can only hook up so much anyway and almost every car has more than can be put down on most conditions .

In reality the UFO needs tracks , and Pittsburgh is a big one right near a major city that is hosting a Lucas event this year . Having racing at a track hosting a Lucas show adds credibility to the promotion

Jared Miley and Max Blair are the 2 top drivers in the crates. There are others. But, every race those 2 pull into makes them the odds on fav. Personally, I think both of these guys have those crates on the edge as far as carbs. Spring pressures , tires and they can both drive the hell out of them.

..........Likely had something to do with why Max "contacted" Jared at the Fall 2015 Steel CC.

They basically are they own teams. " having a team behind you " is like when Hubbard had Robbie Allen wrenching , Beitler stroking checks and random crew snerds to handle tires and maintainence ..... Blair and Miley work on their own cars .... And work to pay the bills on their own cars ...

Why do you always refer to Jared like he's a "crate" racer? He's probably run like 6 crate races in his life. He's a late model driver that happens to have a crate car that he races on the side now and again. Also, I've been to Jared's shop several times, and that car isn't your typical fancy "crate" car. It had a factory sealed engine, with an off the shelf Stealth carburetor, no "crate" rearend, no "$5000" lightweight hubs...it's a late model that he threw a crate motor into. He's just a good driver. As is Max. We're fortunate to have some of the top "crate" drivers in the country, right in our own back yard.

According to him Davey Johnson , Keith Barbera , John Flinner , Tim Shaffer are "crate racers" also , lol .....as they have all driven one at least 1 time. The fact is that they are 100% dedicated to their latemodel cars , except Tim and his Sprint .

J2000. If you read the post to the end. I think I said they both drive the hell out of them. I comment on those 2 because if you watch them you usually will not be disappointed. There the 2 best drivers in the class locally. JMO. As for his crate not having this or having that. Come on. Both of those cars are top quality equipment. Yea the SLM I'm sure has the best he can afford. But that crate car is not lacking much.

I will say this about both Jared and Max. BOTH of those guys on track are visually faster than most of the field in the few races I have seen them go head to head. At some point they just pull car lengths on others. Driver ? Chassis ? Motor ? 2 of the best.

You don't own a latemodel or a crate !! You have no idea about all of the super expensive Crate only items available for these cars . Since they have les power components can be made lighter and more expensive . A crate racer who has looked at their cars and races against them is telling you what they have and you choose to keep your head up your ass and ignore reality . They are very good drivers and very good at adjusting to track conditions and they work very hard in the shop to stay prepared.

And Max is running the super more and more every year too. He's also more of a crate hobbyist than a full time crate racer nowadays.

The point I was trying to make was , I don't see Jared parking his super & racing crates instead. And Max Blair would have been racing Supers exclusively if his deal with Kennedy hadnt went south

Mike Pegher should also be noted as one of the "Top" in a crate.......he kept max Blair in check for quite a while
