I am very excited to announce the 5th annual Ed Laboon Memorial will pay a record $3,017 to win, $200 to start, still with no entry fees!  We will also have the 2nd annual Dobs Auto non-qualifier's race paying $317 to win.  I want to thank Shaun Hooks, Homak Manufacturing, Broughers Machine Shop/Jerry Miley, and PPMS/Miley Motor Sports for helping me increase the purse again this year.  I look forward to working with the fans and sponsors who have helped me in the past again this year as we make the 5th annual race the biggest yet!

March 10, 2016

The Laboon Family, Penn Ohio Pro Stock Series and Miley Motor Sports are pleased to announce the 5th annual Ed Laboon Memorial will pay a record $3,017 to win in 2016!  All parties would like to thank Homak Manufacturing, the presenting sponsor of the 2016 Penn Ohio Series, and Broughers Machine Shop, long time engine builder and close friend of Ed Laboon, for stepping up and making the $3,017 to win race a reality.
“Over the winter I began to think of ways to take the 5th annual race to the next level after 51 cars attended the 2015 event” said Vince Laboon, Ed’s son and race promotor.  “I spoke with Shawn Hooks and Matt Miley and they both were receptive to the idea of helping me find additional sponsors to make the grand prize $3,017 to win while still increasing the overall payout.  I have to thank them for bringing Homak and Broughers on board.  I also want to thank the sponsors and fans who have helped me build the race the last 4 years and I look forward to their support again this year.”
The 5th annual Ed Laboon Memorial will be the highest paying race on the Penn Ohio Series in 2016, boasting an impressive $3,017 to win, $200 to start format with no entry fees.  This year will also feature the popular Dobs Auto non qualifier’s race paying $317 to win.  This year’s race will be on Saturday, June 4th, 2016 again at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway.  Previous winners include Bob Schwartmiller, Jeff Broniszewski, Curt Bish and Rusty Martz.
Rules for the race and track details can be found at www.ppms.com.  Penn Ohio Series information can be found at www.pennohioprostocks.com.  Sponsorship and race format questions can be sent to Vince Laboon at racer17v@yahoo.com or 412-396-9138.  Complete sponsor list and race details to follow.

This board is going to blow up. Great news. 60 cars early prediction. And please don't get on here and start with the negitive crap. This series has to continue to grow, it's affordable for guys without sponsorship help.

Just wanted to add, I still need all of the help I can get from my previous platinum sponsors, contingency sponsors, donations, etc.  Homak and Broughers helped make it a $3,017 to win show but I still need to raise the increased purse and add contingency prizes as always.  If you helped me last year I would really appreciate your support again to keep this race going.  Or if you're a potential sponsor, please contact me to be part of this huge race.  Thanks.
