The BRP had at least 32 cars and ran a B main and that set the field at 27 for the feature I beleive that is a very strong car count for the first race of the year.

20 crates, 21 e-mods, about 20 stocks........can't complain about that for car counts? how can anyone say that was low....just wish they took the backblade into that low cushion a few times to knock it down. but, well run show, home early.....

Thanks for posting the videos, really enjoyed watching. As far as car counts, looked pretty good to me. OK, it was dusty i guess that might be because it is a dirt track and you"ll have that from time to time. ;)

Yep, I took the poster's account of 27 before counting them on the press release!!  As I said, I was unable to make it due to family commitments of the Easter weekend.  Six grand kids here kept me plenty busy!!!

From watching the videos it did not look as bad as some are making it out to be. Good car counts thru out. I agree with Walt, it's a shame the 358 mods never got a good following going.

It's a DIRT TRACK PEOPLE. This time of year is probably the hardest on a track crew in terms of how much water to put down. You go to Mercer you take googles, you keep your mouth closed and enjoy the racing. People have been doing it for years. GOOD SHOW MERCER.

Well Max sure didn't have a difficulty seeing. Even after closing up on the rear of the field. Track looked pretty good from his in car, esp. being 3rd feature.

Trust me, it wasn't. Was there dust? Yes. I have been there when you could not see the backstretch. I had no problem seeing any area of the track last night. The track was fine. I would have liked to have seen one and two widen out more than it did, but guys were still finding a way to pass there. I went to watch the BB's and enjoyed ths show. I appreciated that MRP kept the program moving. Yes I'll bitch about things when I feel the need, but if you found something to complain about last night, then maybe you hate the place no matter what they do.

I hate the place but I still agree with you, nothing to really complain about last night other than the log jam trying to get in the pits.

Did I say there wasn't some dust? He said he could not see how the drivers could see. The video shows you what they saw. Nothing more, nothing less.

I can't remember a visit to MRP this decade, except in January, that it wasn't at least somewhat dusty.  The Chiller Thriller wasn't bad at all.  There was maybe once that I actually lost cars in the dust.

My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

I"ve only been to Tyler County a few times and yes there was some dust, but the racing was good. Went home a little dirty but it washed off no big deal. But i did have fun. Will i go back you bet. Any dirt track you go to you will get some dirt on you so what. Chill out have a BEER and enjoy the races and have fun that"s why you went in the first place isn"t it. I"m just thankful we have racing.
