The stock metric driveshaft is most likely a 3R joint.  They are retained by plastic in the original shaft.  The new joint will be retained by inside clips on the driveshaft side.  The yoke will be most likely a 1310 or 1330 style joint retained by clips on the outside.  Go to the internet and search for a u joint size table or go to a NAPA store and get the paper U joint catalog out.  All kinds of crossover info in the back.  I am certain that this joint is made and is fairly common.

Also verify driveshaft articulation when crossing over from a smaller joint to a larger one.  sometimes the yoke and driveshaft will bind at an angle less than it sees in operation.

Not sure what kind of time frame you have.   GM made a TH375 tranny in the mid 70's.    Its basically a th400 with th350 tailshaft housing.   I believe the TH400 came in 2 different cap diameters too

Turbo 400 yokes can be four different series ;

1310  1.0625" X 3.250"

1330   1.0625" X  3.625"

3R   1.125" X  3.625" ( 2.556" inside lockup)

1350  1.188" X 3.625"
