Good racing, decent car counts, horrible track conditions. Dustiest i've ever seen in 25 yrs. Need more clay & less dirt and rocks. All in all i give the night a 7 out of 10. Anyone elses thoughts?

More clay? the track just had new clay laid down about a month ago. New surfaces are often dusty before they truly get mixed in.

How was the track "horrible"? There were several grooves all night long. The racing was good.

10 out a 10 watching for me.  Totally enjoyed it and there ain't no reason to be able to see what's goin on in turn one from turn four.  No worse then a good night watchin at Mercer.  Enjoyed every minute of it and a total pleasure watching the Kings going through turns 3 and 4 and the Sprint winner.  Three different kinds of LTO cars all taking that end of the track the same way and each out doing all others in their class.  The three were in a class of their own last night.  It was an honor to watch them go through the pit end of the track.  Didn't matter at all if I couldn't see a car all night, once then entered turn one.  Great racin and a fun night.

I think the track was the best thing they could have done, it was packed tight and dry, if they would have watered it and tore it up like normal it would have been a rutted up mess, it will get back to normal in a few weeks. You could run high low middle just dustier then normal. No cars got tore up bad I'd say it was a good night.

Track was definitely horrible, but it's new clay so it will get better.

I prefer races that are contested all the way to the checker, and most of last night (at least the features) was decided by lap 5.  I don't think the crates were as close as they looked.  By that I mean that there was no real chance of Egly driving off hard enough underneath Corey to actually pass him, (IMHO)..  The crate guys trying to run the bottom lost 4 spots by the end of the straightaway in the feature.  Considering the new surface I think it's too early to tell how the racing will be later in the year, but last night at Lernerville was comparable to a normal night at Mercer only with less races.

Then as someone said at the track, it was better than the offseason.

My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

Good car counts, really surprised by the number of Crate Sportsman cars. Dust was the worst I've ever seen at Lernerville. Before I get blasted for saying that, here is a quote from a driver on FB: "Track was very slick, hard, and pretty much follow the leader. Wasn't much passing anywhere. Definitely may have had something for the leader but caught every single lapped car at the wrong time and struggled getting past some cars given the conditions. But it's all good. I know we'll have a better surface to race on in the future."

Which I agree with. They'll figure out the new clay hopefully.

It's already a better surface than when the last one was new, so it's looking good all things considered.

This is coming from a PMS "Yinzer" who bashes lernerville and only goes a few times a year from what he says. When did the last time your track get new "CLAY"? New "SECTIONS" of bleachers not just a few boards, painted barriers, grass cut ect.

I truly never understand what comparing PPMS and/or Mercer has to do with honest feedback on a night at Lernerville. See attached. If this isn't dusty to you and you think you know more than the driver a quoted I can't help you. Sometime the truth hurts. I also said they will figure it out I'm sure. And I will pay my $30 and be back next week either way. Good day sir.

I think they just have Jared run a few laps in his Lernerville car and pack in whatever falls off.

If anyone didn't think there was passing they weren't watching Dave Hess. Went from 20th to 4th. Yea it was dusty. Wonder how the video turned out from that drone. That thing was all over the track. And that 14 year old in the late model impressed me. Did I hear them right when they said he drove a crate late last year?

Skull is an honest guy on feedback that goes there every week. By you showing up once in awhile and perhaps only on bad nights, you tend to always slam the place. When was the last time a track who ran 4 divisions had near 85 cars and done by 10:15pm? By the way, grandstand admission was only $14, why did you spend $30 to sit in the stands and take a picture of all the dust?

Many had there opinions about Mercer's opening race, and know, lernerville was a dust bowl last night. Unusual yes. Mixology. I am pretty sure I have mentioned it before. Trying to prepare a track right out of a freeze condition is not easy. It's pretty much a guessing game as to how much water is locked down below the surface from the cold. They just put that surface down a month ago ? If so, you may not have seen the last of the dust.

Was a racestudder wearing a Corey Hass tee in the pits ?

Just got home and showered from Mercer and Mercer dust wise was way better then Lernerville was Friday.  But I really don't care, the racing at both tracks this weekend was great.

... not to search out someplace to go tomorrow.... Asphalt, out east ... If someone would post where to go watch racing tomorrow so I don't have to root around finding someplace to go, thank you.

I figure and hope sandusky or lorain or somewhere is racing tomorrow???

It's amazing the thin skin people have if you critique Lernerville. I said it was dusty. It was. I said they will figure it out. They will. I then said no matter how good or bad Lernerville is, it has nothing to do with how good or bad PPMS or any other track is. Also a fact. A respected driver said the track was bad and they will get it right. They will. Read some of the other posts about tracks on here. Then cry about bashing.

I watched the features from the stands after I helped in the pits, if that is okay with you.

Ps the fish sandwich was good and the Bud Lights were cold. I then topped off the night with a delicious kraut hot dog. I enjoyed myself. A dusty night at the race track is better than no races at all. I was also having some fun since everyone ran Justin Lamb out of town for having the audacity to say he was the only person who needed clear goggles in the last 25 years at Lernerville. Then the first race of the year ended up being a dust bowl. Relax.
