I read the release on here and could not believe my eyes when I saw that it was going to be 25 dollars to get into the stands at Pittsburgh for the UFO race. A normal night is 15 dollars. So 10 more bones for a few more laps. Now this would be fine, IF there were some outsiders coming in. Last year there was a base of 10 late models we shall say who ran Pittsburgh almost weekly. I do not see where they will pick up a lot of cars. The 50,000 to win show at Atomic is where most of the big guns with be. I also will say that same show is 45 dollars for a 2 day pass which looks like a hell of a deal. Hell, it is cheaper to go there for a 50 k to win race then the Pittsburgher which is 20 k. I would love to know how some of these promoters come up with their prices. The little crowd you have now, well you might start driving some of them away too. 25 dollars won't break me, but as a consumer you need to understand what the best value for your dollar is.

Too many tracks anyway. I'd love to see them all succeed, but car counts looked about right last week when there were only a couple tracks to choose from. Let your money talk. Go where you think the money is best spent.

On May 14 at PPMS, gates will open at 5 PM with warm-ups at 6 PM and racing at 7 PM.   Admission will be $25 grandstands, seniors 60+ $24, juniors 13-16 $15, children 6-12 $5, and pits $40.   Reserved parking is available for $10 extra.   UFo Super Late Models will have a $25 entry fee deducted from the final payoff.

 

A $25 entry fee deducted from the payoff is the cherry on top.

 

Hell, the race at Atomic pays $3000 to start and is only charging $70 to get in the pits for two days.

This is nothing new for PPMS. The prices are always high at the gates. I mean, it's not like this is anywhere near the first time a discussion on their prices has happened on this board.

The Herb Scott Memorial is a regional race for UFO cars, not for the big guns.  Since this is a UFO race, guys running the series for points will more than likely show up which will probably bring in a few more outsiders.  A $25 entry fee is deducted from all UFO races, not just the race at Pittsburgh.  Their prices are only $5 more than the other UFO tracks (Dog Hollow & Tyler Co).  If $5 is going to break you, maybe you can go to the hockey playoffs instead.

people like you are the reason they charge these admission prices, because no matter what you will show up and in your mind justify it.

I'm a race fan, price doesn't matter to me.  Prices are always high at Pittsburgh, do we really need another post to point that out?  I certainly would rather pay a little extra money close to home than driving 4 hours away and back, plus paying for a motel.

Jo73 your right. The great one said at one point, "If it  wasn't for the track still being open, 90% of the people who race their would sell out and quit racing as they don't travel". So i guess kiss the promoters ass and pay what ever they need fit to line their pockets and keep a track open. 

 

 

 

Flash49 you must be a wealthy man to just hand over money to tracks and pay what ever the signs says when you enter the facility. You must be SINGLE! What if you had a family and 2 step children? Would you be saying the same thing after you spend over $100+ at a track?

 

Tracks should offer a family pass. Kids are the future of the sport and promoters are turning them away by having then not "get hooked" on racing and raping their parents who in return don't want to go  and not bring their kids to an event.

Seniors get 1 dollar off? Thats hilarious!! The Miley's are a joke. They rape everyone at the gate and always have. They helped to ruin Motordrome, as well as PPMS. Too bad they never look in the mirror to see the problem.

As long as parking is free 25 bucks is a cheap night out. Football, baseball, Hockey are $12.oo tickets? No, and it might cost $40.oo to park before you get to the ticket window at those other venues.

I don't think $25 is a big deal! it is a night out cheaper than any other event you can go to. yes the place needs some updates but what dirt race track doesn't need updates?  

The people that Bi*ch are probably the ones that leave right after the late model feature, and feel $25 is to much for an hour and a half.   They miss some of the best races of the night.

The people that Bi*ch are probably the ones that leave right after the late model feature, and feel $25 is to much for an hour and a half.   They miss some of the best races of the night. 

 At pittsburgh, the only feature with what would be considered a full field would be the crates and they run first. Everything else has 10 cars or less. So if you came to see Late Models, you probably would leave when they are done and not stay to watch 10 sportsmen or 5 amateurs.

If Pittsburgh charges too much go somewhere else.  I wouldn't pay $25 for a UFO race, so I don't.  But then, I haven't been to PPMS for years.  There are too many other options to feel obligated to go there, and the racing there doesn't draw me that far south.
