HOMAK MANUFACTURING 30 AT THUNDER MOUNTAIN

(Sandy Lake, PA) The Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Championship Series kicks off the 2016 Touring Series with the 30 Lap, $2,500 to-win event at Thunder Mountain Speedway on Friday, May 20th . The event will be the first point race for the Touring Series in 2016 and will be a must see show. Bo Lockwood, Thunder Mountain Speedway Promoter, is excited to host the event stating, “This series opener will be sure to showcase the talent of the region’s top Street Stock Drivers.”

With the help of Homak as the Penn Ohio Series Presenting Sponsor, the original to-win payout of $2,000 is increased to $2,500, with a $7,500 total feature purse. In addition to the hefty $2,500 to-win, Coleman Well Services LLC will sponsor a Dash for cash paying the Dash winner $500. The race format will begin with hot laps, group qualifying, heats, B-mains, Dash, and the 30 lap A-Main. Provisional spots will be available for two non-qualifiers, highest in 2015 points for both Homak Penn Ohio Series and Thunder Mountain.

A $25 registration fee will be charged for all drivers participating in the May 20th event. All drivers will be eligible for a Hoosier tire and American Racer tire going to the highest finisher on that tire; while Touring Series member drivers will be eligible for a variety of additional contingency prizes ranging from a bead lock to gift certificates to cash. Sponsoring the contingency prizes are Homak Manufacturing, Hoosier Tire by Precise, American Racer by Lias Tire, Precise Racing Products, Les Frickshun, S S Chassis, Close Racing Supply, Wedge Motorsports, Big Daddy’s Speed Center, and Phantom Signs & Graphics. A hard luck award worth $25 will be presented by Shaffer’s Auto Service. Additionally, the hard charger sponsor for this event will be Animal Graphics & Signs presenting a $100 certificate.

Anyone planning on making the trip to get some seat time tonight? Weather looks ok right now, but seems like they change the forecast by the minute. Hopefully they give it full effort to get it in

They are posting on Facebook that racing is a go! It has not rained here all day and the forecast looks good! It should be a great night on the mountain! Yes, that is a lot of exclamation's but I am excited to get the season started!!

Been beautiful today. Wind up there will help too I'm sure. If they haven't called it by now, I'd say they're good to go. Not going to see much racing anywhere else the rest of the weekend. I'll be there, good or bad, I want to see some racing. I'm optimistic enough guys want to race this weekend and counts will be good.

The pay offs for these guys keeps increasing, which is good, the reasoning behind itI believe is that people are taking notice on how good the racing is #1. There grass roots racers #2. It's good for the area and more guys are getting into the series. The Laboon race at PPMS is going to be very interesting. I think promotors also are watching closely.
