AJ Flick doubles up in the Peoples Natural Gas Sprints

Mat Williamson wins third consecutive Diehl Mods feature

Alex Ferree and Terry Young score first wins of 2016

Sarver, PA (June 3, 2016) A third generation driver from Apollo, PA led 24 of the 25 laps of Friday Night’s Peoples Natural Gas DIRTcar Sprint feature.  In the early going, Sye Lynch set a torrid pace as fellow Apollo native AJ Flick and Dan Kuriger gave chase.  Kuriger got around Lynch first to lead lap 12, but Flick took the lead on lap 13 and never looked back en route to his second win of the season.  Alex Ferree picked up the feature win in the Precise Racing Products DIRTcar Late Models; the 34th of his career.  Mat Williamson came from 10th of the starting grid for the second week in a row to score his third feature win in a row in the Diehl Automotive DIRTcar Northeast Big Block Modifieds.  Terry Young brought the night to a close with a dominant performance to win his first feature of the season in the Millerstown Pic-A-Part DIRTcar Sportsman.

Michael Lake was fast again last night, but he found the going a little rougher starting 10th as opposed to up front.  He is obviously a talented young man with very good equipment, but he looked a little like John Flinner last evening.  If he can reel in his emotions and keep his cool, he will be hard to beat.

The cushion that formed for the features propelled many, more to the tail than forward, no doubt an excellent run program once again!

Yeah, we don't need another John Flinner, IMHO one of those is too many.  Lake is young, hopefully he will learn, and find that spot where he can be as fearless as he is, without being destructive.

My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.
