Per Frank Benic, Mercer is canceled for 6-4-16.

Not saying you're wrong, but if they indeed canceled, someone may want to update social media and the website.

I just drove home from Sharon (where all 5 features were completed) on bone dry roads right past the race track in Mercer. Just in case anyone was wondering.

I was just about to say the same thing.

Isn't that the second time they cancelled this year with no rain? At least 2 for sure. Maybe more?

I live a quarter mile from the track. It spit rain off and on all night. Not enough to soak anything but just enough to keep fans away. So ya sucks there was no racing but the track had to do what they had to do

Sharon's release said they had drizzle, so knowing the usual weather patterns, I don't think Mercer was out of line here.  And neither Pittsburgh or Marion Center were able to get all their feature races run!!

GOOD RACING!!!

yea, but it's easier to rip on the promotor, then to understand the costs of running a racetrack. As the guy above said. Yea it sucks BUT. You can not expect promotors to keep throwing money at a wall and hope the hell it sticks. Out of 100 fans, watching all the weather forecast's, it was and always will be the right move. Then let's rip Dutko to. Really. Go listen to most track announcers, most of them are not close to his level.

I think I may have the solution to this issue everyone that is dissatisfied with the decisions being mad should all form a co-op and purchase a track any track and then they could make all the decisions.

With Neupert not looking like it's going to happen, that might not be such a bad idea Bill.  Not to shut people up, but maybe to open up a good support track, maybe micros or karts.

My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.
