The $100,000 Mega-100 at Tyler County is Less than A Month Away!
(Mars, PA) The mountains of WV will rumble with three days of pure racing action at the 2nd annual Mega-100 at Tyler County Speedway on Thursday-Friday-Saturday, July 7-8-9. This massive $100,000 event features huge payoffs for the UFo Super Late models and the Renegades of Dirt E-mods, and will also feature the UFo Semi-Lates.
The UFo Super Late Models will be racing for $10,000 possible to win. Friday’s 45 lap championship will pay $3,000 to the winner with $300 for 20th. The 2016 “Earl Hill Championship” on Saturday will pay $5,000 to the winner and $400 for 20th for the 55 lap feature. If the same driver wins both races, they will win a $2,000 bonus. This year will include a full racing program on each night for the super Late Models with heat races, consolations and feature. 20 cars are slated to start the feature, but if 32 cars are in attendance 22 cars will start with positions 21st+ paying $300. Tim Dohm of Cross Lanes, WV won the 2015 Friday night event, while Jared Hawkins made a daring last-lap, last-turn pass to win the $5,000 finale on Saturday.
The Renegade of Dirt E-mods will race all three nights for $4,000 to win each night, totaling $12,000 to win. All three nights will feature a complete racing program with 30 lap features on Thursday and Friday and a 40 lap finale on Saturday. Saturday will also feature a $600 to win non-qualifiers’ race.
The UFo Semi-Lates will make their delayed premier at Tyler County on Thursday. The 33 lap championship will pay $1,000 to the winner. UFo Semi-Late rules will be in effect. 602 and 604 crate motors may weigh 2,200 pounds and have a 12” spoiler and side spoilers, with a 4 x 32” nose spillboard. UFo legal limited motors will weigh 2,350. 430 c.i. limit steel block/steel head motors may weigh 2,400 and 430 c.il steel block/aluminum head motors may weigh 2,450. This division will use an open compound tire rule at Tyler County.
The EDGE Hot Mods will compete in the “Wild One” on all three days. Thursday and Friday will feature heat races and a 12 lap qualifier feature pay $200 to win. Each night, the top six finishers plus a pre-drawn “wild” spot will transfer to Saturday’s finale. Saturday will feature the championship feature plus last chance qualifier(s).
STARS Mod-Lites will compete in heat races on Friday with a $1,000 to win championship on Saturday. The FASTRAK Late Models will racing in a full program with $600 to win on Saturday. 4-Cylinder Warriors will also race in a $150 to win feature on Saturday.
UFo Super Late Models will have a $25 entry fee each night, deducted from final payoff. Semi-Lates will have a $15 entry fee. The RoD E-mod entry fee is currently $150, which covers all three nights. Because the Semi-Lates are competing on a separate night, the same driver or car may run in both UFo divisions for this event. Semi-Lates are reminded that steel block motors receive a 10” spoiler with 12” side spoilers and a weight of 2,275 in the UFo Super Late Model rules.
Three day grandstand tickets are currently on sale for $50 with three day pit passes currently on sale for $100. Individual one-day tickets are $20 for the grandstands and $35 for the pits.
