I know this is an old subject...but I bought my $69 Firecracker tix package tonite at the track and it cost $74..  Paid cash at the window.  $5 Handling fee.  Lady said it was plainly stated on web site about Handling fee.  Can anyone tell me where on the L'ville site it says there is a fee ???

I don't see a handling fee in the web site.  I also don't see how the ticket prices/fees online must be the same as at the track, would think the track was cheaper since there is less overhead in the transaction.  I will have to check with the buddy who also bought tix at the track tonight what the total was.  That may explain why it was taking so long for the line to move, 4 windows and only 1 selling Firecracker tickets, waited over a half hour for maybe a dozen people in front of us.

Prices:
Three Day Reserved/GA: $69
Three Day Reserved/GA (11-17): $45
Three Day Pit Pass: $95

Thursday Reserved/GA: $34
Thursday Reserved/GA (11-17): $15
Thursday Pit Pass: $35

Friday Reserved/GA: $34
Friday Reserved/GA (11-17): $15
Friday Pit Pass: $35

Saturday Reserved/GA: $40
Saturday Reserved/GA (11-17): $25
Saturday Pit Pass: $40

*Free fan pit pass with package, good for Thu/Fri

It's called the unadvertised fee, or 5 for me. Someone should pull it up on there phone and say SHOW ME. The thing is they gotcha, what are you going to say. NO. I highly doubt it. Maybe big PR can inform the paying customers ?

I have asked the PR man on this site and got no response.  and you are  right,  73,  if it cost $100  i'd buy it!!!!   Best racing on east coast!!  Just seems like they think i'm stupid.  Why not just market it as a $74 dollar package.  Still a bargain.

It's the point. Not the dollar amount. I could see a credit card fee, as most charge that. But not for cash.

There is only 1 price listed for Fab 4 nights, not 1 price for cash and another for credit.  Why should the Firecracker have different prices?

I agree. I've just seen other events where there are different prices for credit vs cash.

Yes, that's what the capitalistic system is all about, the very nature of businesses.

My guess is the software they use is setup so any ticket sold in advance of the current date, will require a $5 fee.  It does not care if it's a phone order, a computer order or a purchase at the ticket window.  As long as it's a sale for a date ahead of the current date, a $5 fee is added.

Either they can't change it in the software so the fee is not charged during a race night, choose not to change it or want to change it but don't know how.

If they can change it so they can sell tickets without the fee ahead of time during a racing night and don't know how to do it; then they would have to pay someone else to do it for them and management has decided not to spend what's needed to have it changed.

I suspect there's something simple in the software which would allow them to not charge the $5 at the ticket window.  But nobody who works there knows how to do it.  The end result there stuck making their good paying weekly racing fans mad, because of $5's.

And yes I am, though retired now, one of those suppose to be computer experts.  :)

It's $5.  Still the best deal anywhere in the country, outside of the World Finals.

I paid the extra $5 Friday night for her to toss it in the window.  Not pissed at the fact I had to pay it, pissed at the fact its NOWHERE on the site.  Just happened to have $4 extra in my pocket.  I never carry more then I need.
