When these people stand against the fence and impede a fans view they get upset. This is what this guy was doing. Do you think it would be okay for a fan to go stand up against the fence when the feature race was going on? Security normally or the announcer kicks them off the fence immediately.

I think they should let you run radios, the bitch about that would be for blocking.
If you block you get the black flag.
With radios you can let your driver know he has a problem or of a problem on the track.....
You might say the race radio can take care of that, they do but they miss some, like when the 30 car in the Sportsman race drove from the infield and got together with the 9, they were lucky no one got hurt.

what dirt racing is about. If you need a spotter, you should be worried about whats
going on, on the track, not who your spotters telling you to block.

A lot of drivers have spotters, they had them for year.

Radios were a thing in dirt racing not that long ago. Then they went away, for a multitude of reasons. It's best to leave that sleeping dog lie.

I don't think the spotters are blocking anyone's view and I couldn't care less if a team uses a spotter or not but I thought the same thing about them standing right at the fence. If that were a fan standing at the fence security would be down there in 2 minutes. I agree no radios necessary on dirt.

I agree also no radios, the sport is expensive enough.
I think the moral of the story is fans don't care if the drivers have spotters, just DONT STAND AGAINST THE FENCE blocking peoples view.

Joe Martin has a pair of wins this year, one each at Marion Center and Dog Hollow. He has looked pretty good at Lernerville and I think he could win there!! Former "Western PA Rookie of the Year"!!

You guys are complete idoits if you think giving signals is a issue. And the idoits im referring to which everyone knows is the group of 5-7 in Turn 1 and one with Michael Strahan teeth that thinks its okay to swear and flip people off while kids and fans are nearby. They seemed get uptight cause a guy is 30 ft in front of them "blocking their view" or "cheating" with signals haha. Watch a national race like Firecracker or Working Man 50 and you will see everyone of the teams have a spotter. I saw these guys heckle Kings spotter who maybe was 20 yrs old. come down out of the stands and push him and then break his light stick? Then while with my kids this week I see them this week flip off a kid in the stands probably in his 20's maybe also and then 61 car spotter. Then continued to heckle and threw ice or something and hit one of the kid that in the stands until finally a security guy arrived. Its just uncalled for and these 50 year old somethings need to grow up and actually get a grip on life and touch up on their Dirt Late Model insight. Hopefully Risch and them get a grip on those guys. I'm sure their mom and dads be proud of their actions/ridiculousness.

It's amazing how uneducated about racing some "racing fans" are.

Can't believe this is even a topic... Instead of talking about Norris, Martin, and Pegher all 3 breaking the track record.
The real topic should be how Martin's spotter looks like Chunk from the Goonies

I don't know as a driver how you even have enough time to look for the spotter.

Every team could do it if they want.
I don't know as a driver how you even have enough time to look for the spotter.
I can't remember the year but Bob McCreadie showed up at Lernerville one night and I was standing by his crew guy who was signaling him with two flashlights.
Barefoot would acknowledge his signal with a hand wave every
time the crew guy signaled whether it was at speed or during a caution.
He ended up lapping the field that night.....
