UFo Championship Challenge Blasts off August 20 with $5,000 to Win at Stateline!
(Mars, PA) The re-designed UFo Championship Challenge will blast off into its fall event schedule on Saturday, August 20 at the New Stateline Speedway. Track owners Jim and Jean Scott, along with partner Brian Horner will celebrate the Scott’s 50th wedding anniversary with a mega-event. “Jim & Jean’s Sweetheart 50th Bash” presented by Overhead Door of Jamestown will pay $5,000 to win and $400 for 24th for the UFo Super Late Models with a total payoff of over $22,000.
“Jim & Jeans Sweetheart 50th Bash” will showcase the UFo Super Late Models in a 50 lap championship paying $5,000 to win, and $400 to start with $200 going to non-qualifiers. The program will include Super Late Model warmu-ups, extended-lap heat races, consolation(s) and the championship feature.
The new UFo passing points format will determine the initial qualifiers into the feature and redraw. This system awards points for heat race finish position as well as the number of positions advanced. All heat race winners are guaranteed to qualify. This system allows for an equitable chance to qualify for the feature regardless of heat race starting position.
The RUSH Late Models will be in competition for a double late model division program. RUSH Pro-Mods will race in full racing programs, with the Sportsman and Challengers competing in a feature-only program.
At Stateline on August 20, the pits will open at 4:00 with grandstands opening at 5:00, drivers meeting/pill draw cut-off at 6:25 and Super Late Model warm-ups/stock car racing at 7:00. Grandstands are only $20 for adults, $10 for seniors 62+, college students and military with ID and $10 for juniors 6-16. All pit tickets are $35 with minimum 14 years of age requirement. Super Late Model car entry fee is $25.
Payoff for “Jim & Jean’s Sweetheart 50th Bash” at Stateline Speedway

The “Red Miley Rumble” on Saturday, August 27 will see the UFo Super Late Models return to the “Monster Half-Mile” for a 35 lap championship paying $3,053 to the winner. The wide half at PPMS always provides a tremendous amount of speed and passing action. RUSH Late Models, Sportsman, Hobby and Young Guns will also be on the racing program.
Admission will be $25 grandstands, seniors 60+ $24, juniors 13-16 $15, children 6-12 $5, and pits $40. Reserved parking is available for $10 extra. UFo Super Late Models will have a $25 entry fee deducted from the final payoff. On June 11 at PPMS, gates will open at 5 PM with warm-ups at 6 PM and racing at 7 PM

Both tracks will utilize UFo Super Late Models rules for these events. American Racer 44 or harder or Hoosier 15/1300 or harder tires are required with a minimum 36 punch on any tire. Stateline requires the Westhold (yellow) transponders while PPMS requires the AMB (red) transponders. Rentals are available at each track. Drivers are reminded the UFo Super Late Model weight limit for open aluminum block motors is 2,275 pounds after the race, with no burnoff.
The new UFo instant-bonus payoff will also be in effect beginning with “Jim & Jean’s Sweetheart 50th Bash.” The top five drivers in the point standings are paid a $200 bonus by the tracks upon event completion, if they attend with a running car. However, at the initial event at Stateline on August 20, this bonuse has been extended to 15 drivers. The top seven drivers from the June 2016 point standings as well as the car owner of the leading team at that time, plus the top seven drivers from the September 2015 point standings are eligible for this bonus. All of these drivers will be paid a $200 bonus upon attendance on August 20.
If the “Jim & Jean’s Sweetheart 50th Bash” at Stateline is not completed before August 27, the same 15 drivers will be offered the bonus at the “Red Miley Rumble” on August 27. If “Jim & Jean’s Sweetheart 50th Bash,” is completed before August 27, a different set of 15 drivers will be offered the bonus based on current point standings after that event. Beginning in September, the standard bonus to the top five drivers will be in effect.
