FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Massive $60,000+ Payoff Announced for the UFo “ThunderDog Showdown” at Dog Hollow

(Mars, PA)  Dog Hollow Speedway has released, the full payoff, schedule of events and ticket pricing for the three day spectacular “ThunderDog Showdown” on Thursday-Friday-Saturday, September 22-23-24.   The “ThunderDog Showdown” will be a total late model phenomenon with four late model-type features and three late model classes in competition during the weekend.  Over $60,000 will be paid out among all classes.

The 2016 UFo “ThunderDog Showdown” will feature two complete UFo Super Late Model programs paying $8,000 total to win.  UFo Super Late Models will race for $2,000 to win and $200 for 24th in the “Flying Floyd Kline Klassic” and $6,000 to win and $400 for 24th in the “ThunderDog Finale.”

Each race will count for full UFo points and will determine the 2016 Champion. Dylan Yoder of Selinsgrove, PA leads Bump Hedman of Sugar Grove PA by 19 points.    Mike Mort of Lewistown, PA sits 33 point behind Hedman.    Up to a 60 point deficit can be eliminated between the two events.   Dave Hess, Jr. of Waterford, PA and Waylon Wagner of Lewiston round out the top five and will all be eligible for the $200 bonus at Dog Hollow.

The UFo “ThunderDog Showdown generated the highest Super Late Model car count in the entire five-state region in 2015.  To reward attendance in 2016, the Super Late Model starting grid will increase at the car count increases.   The standard starting field will be 24 cars.  With 40 cars, it will increase to 26, 45 will translate to 28 starters and 50 cars will see a thrilling 30 car feature on the wide, racey 3/8 mile supertrack.

The UFo “ThunderDog Showdown” will be triple late model division bonanza as the UFo Semi-Late return to action for a non-point event and the Pro/Crate Late Models will race allowing any CARS/RUSH/FASTRAK crate tire.  UFo Semi-Lates (steel block/limited/crate option) will race for $1,500 to win.  Crate Late Models will compete for $1,500 to win.  Hobby/Pure Stocks will pay $700 to win and Roadrunner 4-Cylinders will compete for $400 to win.     At least 1 UFo Semi-Late provisional will be based on the final June point standings for this event.

The weekend will kick off of Thursday, September 24 with a “Track Test.”  This night will allow all competitors open practice on the 3/8 mile supertrack to set their cars up for the weekend.

On Friday, September 24, the “Flyin’ Floyd Kline Klassic” will feature the UFo Super Late Models in a full racing program with a 36 lap feature paying $2,000 to the winner.  Floyd was the inaugural winner of the “Fall Fest” event held at the Challenger Raceway, so it is fitting that his tribute race be part of this new Indiana County fall event.  The Semi-Lates, Crate Late Models, Hobby/Pure Stocks and Roadrunner/4-Cylinders will compete in their qualifying heat races.

On Saturday, September 25, the “ThunderDog Finale” will feature the UFo Super Late Models in another full racing program with $6,000 going to the winner of the 61 lap championship finale for the circuit.  The Semi-Lates, Crate Late Models, Hobby/Pure Stocks and Roadrunner 4-Cylinders will all race in their consolation and super championship feature events.

Camping is free beginning on Thursday, September 22.   Camping will be patrolled and posted curfew limits will apply on transportation.

Please note that the "Track Test" open practice on Thursday, Sept. 22 has been moved up 1 hour to 6:00 to 9:00 PM in order to accomodate the neighborhood on a work night.

The 6:20 pill draw cut off time on Fri & Sat will be strictly enforced.  Late arrivals will be permitted to start the tail of a heat race.

This is a pretty solid list of super late model drivers to expect at this event based on websites Facebook Twitter practice attendance verbal commitment to the promoter. Plus more drivers expected.

If the super late model car count hits 50
Fans are going to get to see a rare 30 car super late model feature starting grid. The only other time that was done in UFo competition the winner came from 29th!
Last year's winner Kyle Hardy started 23rd!

I wish the Pro Stock's were running.  According to the race director, there were some sponsorship issues with the class..
