For Immediate Release

September 30, 2016 (Sandy Lake, PA) Rain showers and inclement weather forecasted throughout the weekend has given McKean County Raceway officials no choice but to postpone this weekend’s “Fall Classic” event.  The make-up event is rescheduled to October 14th and 15th, with the Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stocks being featured on Saturday, October 15th for $1,000 to-win.  The event will be the final point race of the 2016 Season for the Touring Series.

The Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Championship Series looks forward to participating in the Willie White Memorial scheduled at Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway on October 7th and 8th.  The event is a $2,055 to-win show honoring the memory of Willie White.  There will be no registration fee collected by Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stocks for the event and no points will be awarded to Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Championship drivers.

Currently Chris Schneider is the point leader in the touring series, followed by Bobby Whitling in second; Brian Rhed in third; Rob Shook in fourth; and Randy Wyant rounding out the top five.  Don’t miss out on the 28th Annual Pittsburgher 100 or the make-up Fall Classic!  Both races are sure to provide thrilling, edge-of-the-seat racing!

McKean scheduled against Lernerville. Do you expect Penn Ohio to forfeit the race for Lernerville when they haven't raced there all year?

YES, a quick check of their website and it is a "Open" race.   Not a good date for McKean County to pick, but there aren't many weeks left and sure they didn't want to go up against the Pittsburger.  Where it will hurt most at Lernerville will be the E-Mods as most of them are from the Northern Tier!!   Unfortunately there is always the problem of weather cancellations at this time of year and one track having to reschedule against another one.  Just got word that Williams Grove has canceled the National Open for this week and will run it all as a one day show on Friday October 14!!   Also Stampede weekend!!  Won't take any cars from Lernerville, but one could well see a WoO team or two stop at Lernerville Friday on their way home. Tag the tail Saturday and go.  You won't see Donny Schatz for $3,000 to win, however some of the lesser WoO guys, such as Greg Wilson, who has to go right through western PA to get home to Ohio, might just show up!!  Will be interesting to see if any do!!

GOOD RACING TO ALL!!!

Walt

They really don't have much choice, any later in the year it can really get cold up there.  Plus, Lernerville scheduled their Stampede a week earlier than in the past, it's now opposite the Dirt Track World Championship.

From Facebook, their promotor Chris Zuver:

It's real.simple why we schedule on that weekend. It's the only and latest weekend the fairgrounds is open. The Fairboard begins using all the buildings and one is our concession building and the other is our tech building for winter storage rentals. The fair association moved their winter storage move in date back 2 weeks to accommodate me. Unfortunatley it is October and there is only so many dates left open. Again...support.the events you can in the next few weeks before there is no more racing until 2017.

Lernerville shuns the penn/Ohio series. I think the only reason they opened the rules was strictly a back gate issue. Tracks are trying to get there end of season races in. I think the ppms race is going to have another good field of sportsman cars. Lernerville will just have to live with the choice made long ago.
