I was told at Lernerville this past weekend by one of their drivers that they were running this week. However, who knows for sure being they don't keep their website up to date and send nothing out to the media!!!

This is from a fans point of view. The banking, the surface, what a place she was.
So, another track showing a 4-sale sign. It is so unfortunate the speedway's that could be closing the gates. These track owners that are on the verge of not opening the next weekend also has a affect on guys wanting to get into the sport.

that is partly because of to many track specific classes and rules.I believe the Miley's own motordrome also correct ? I always wandered what, if any, there plans for the Drome were going to be if the ppms sale had gone thru. People can say what they want. The Drome was a Sunday staple for us. I've been to both and personally I would take that place over ppms any day.

Racing has changed and the days of Sunday night racing in southwestern PA is over. While Eriez/Tri-City seems to be OK up north, it doesn't seem to work anymore down here. Motordrome was successful in the 70's when Butch Overly owned it.But back them racing 3-4 nights a week was not unusual. When Bruce Rheinhart took over in the 80's he had a few good years but by the late 80's I guess he wasn't making much, otherwise he wouldn't have left in the middle of the night in September 1989. Roaring Knob ran Sunday's when they first opened for a couple seasons, but quickly switched to Saturday's the minute the lights were installed. Motordrome ran Sunday's the first season it was paved, but switched to Friday's the second season. Latrobe/Schmucker's tried Sunday's in 1980 and 1981 when J.R. Maguder and Jack Freeman ran the track, but neither lasted an entire season. When it reopened, neither promoter in the 90's-2000's had any luck on Sunday's. Both PPMS and I-79 tried Sunday night specials, but neither brought in great crowds. Racing on Sunday's isn't the ticket in southwest PA anymore.
