Some on here from time to time bash Max for picking an easy schedule even though the Stateline-Eriez circuit is maybe the strongest two track circuit in area Late Model racing.    Besides full time WoO runners Chub Frank and Boom Briggs, and regular traveler Mason Ziegler, Blair is the only Late Model driver from the western PA area on hand for the World Finals at Charlotte!!  And the only one of the four who races weekly shows!!    Doesn't look like cherry picking to me!!!

And BTW, the are four area Modified drivers in Charlotte for the World Finals, Jeremiah Shingledecker, Rick Regalski, J R McGinley and Ralph McBride.   Better showing than either the Sprints or Later Models!!

No favorite drivers here, just call 'em as I see 'em!!     GOOD LUCK TO ALL "OUR"  DRIVERS IN TONIGHT AND TOMORROWS RACES!!

 GOOD RACING TO ALL!!!

Walt

Did you ever consider that not a lot of drivers can make that much of a trip for a 3 day deal due to work personal commitments, not to mention expense,im sure if guys could do it they would, who wouldn't?

VERY TRUE!!!!!    That has always been the case for just about anyone other than the full time "professionals" such as Dale Blaney, Chub Frank, Danny Holtgraver and Tim Shaffer, etc. And granted,Max Blair is pretty close to fitting into that group other than he does not race with a touring series!!

GOOD RACING!!!!

69 Late models.  Richards wins again followed by Madden and Lanigan. Tough field, I don't think Davenport qualified and Blair was 4th in his last chance race.

Interesting Logan getting a second place finish. This kid is going to be on many podiums before his career ends.

Max knew he couldnt run 50 laps with the big boys and win so he did one lap and pulled it in to go home.

Max actually hurt the motor in the "B" main. The decision was made to pull in early, to save the motor.

Max is down there running with the best of the best and a comment is made. AMAZING. Maybe Davenport not making the show was because he has garbage equipment too.

Davenport could really care less about making the show. That was his last race with the 6 team.

If I recall correctly, it was said that it didn't make financial sense for Max Blair to go to the Firecracker for several reasons, buying special tires and it being a multi-day show among them.  Can anyone explain why it made sense to do that very thing, several hundred more miles from home, at a show that pays much less?  Not jagging, just curious.

If at first you don't succeed, then maybe you just suck.
