Having been associated with Mercer since the 50s in many different way and in particular the last 25 + years I find myself wondering a great deal about the 2017 schedule ? the way it appears they will be running again but for myself and many others that make many long term plans and decisions the current information is not only vague but confusing as well. My love for Mercer is very deep and the future is important to many racing fans and competitors it for this reason I am asking for a little more solid information.

Mercer has a very rich history especially in Sprint cars and Modifieds I am praying they will be deeply considered in all future plans , I have very little money invested but if I total my time of service and I hope the loyalty I have shown at my familys expense there is not any way to put a $$ sign on it.

I wish Mr Altman only success in his venture and trust we will never be without a Mercer Raceway Park.

Sincerley

That would be a big blow to the local Sprint Car teams and fans!!!  Hopefully, such is not true!!!    Where are you getting your info???

Mercer without Sprint cars !!!  As Walt said that would be a big lose to the sprint car guys but I think it would also hurt the track. Let's hope that one is just a rumor...

With all that has been questioned about MRP since the end of the season till now, I would think that the speedway want to come forward and be a bit more forthcoming as to the status of things.

Trying to pre-sell tickets for the 2017 season with the amount of uncertainty that is going around seems a bit premature......

Although I don't get to Mercer often, less in the last few years, I would hate to see it go away. I fear without some drastic changes soon though, it's fate will be sealed. I hope not.

Mercer has been a Sprint Car track going back 50 years!!  It is hard for me to see that track being successful without them!!!  If a new owner drops the Sprints, what would he replace them with??  Not enough Modifieds to bring the big blocks back and run against Sharon!!   And I don't  think they could draw enough Late Models from the other Saturday night tracks to make that work either!!   What's left, another support class track??   With low admissions and low purses to pay out, maybe a new owner could exist. However, the track would probably drop off the radar for many fans.   Hopefully any new owner wouldn't do that and keep Mercer's tradition alive!!

GOOD RACING TO ALL!!!

I just had a call from Frank Benic at Mercer............

Mercer Raceway Park has not been sold and they are planning on running the same program in 2017 as before including the 410 Sprint Cars!!!   The season will again open with a BRP Mod Tour race for the big block Mods at the end of March.

Hopefully, this will put all the rumors to rest!!!!

GOOD RACING TO ALL!!!!

Thanks to Frank Benic and Walt both. I think it's obvious that someone mentioned to Benic about the rumors starting to get out there and I give him credit for contacting Walt to put the ??? everyone had to rest. Mercer's history is without question a story to tell.

I first went to Mercer over 50 years ago!!  And of course was track announcer there for many years, so that old place has a lot of history with me!!   I wish the track nothing but the best in the years to come!!  Lot of good racing there in the past!!

GOOD RACING TO ALL!!!!

Nobody cares about the Big Blocks. We want the late models back at The Chiller Thriller as it has been for many many years up until last year.

I was told by someone that tried to get a traveling series of sprint cars there and he was told there would not be any winged cars there because they were to expensive and

could not afford the sprint cars of any kind

If there's an Allstar show there this year they might need to do a little fixing to their advanced tickets advertisement.

I'm buying at least 10 for $8.50 each, especially when it says I can use the tickets at any race except the charity race.
