Interesting race on MavTV. 2 Oklahoma guys first and second, but, Rico was coming thru that field twice. I think he may have definitely had the car to beat. We're his 2 yellows avoidable ? Will never get the chance to find out. But he was clawing thru that field twice. Does anyone no if he is running the truck series again this year ? Hopefully not. That guy can wheel a open wheel car.

Has Steve kinser ever made a run (consecutive years) on the chili bowl crown ?

Christopher Bell won the main Chili Bowl race.  A few years back he raced at Lernerville driving the Rick Ferkel #0 car in several All Star races.  He is now on the fastrack in NASCAR!!   Another young driver who can drive about anything!!  Shades of Kyle Larson who also raced at Lernerville on the way up.   In the mold of Tony Stewart and A J Foyt!!!

GOOD RACING TO ALL!!!

Rico's a class young man.  My daughter in law wanted a Chili Bowl shirt signed by him and I told her I would get one.

I found a time when he appeared to be not busy and approached him with a shirt to be signed for my daughter in law.

He had no pen and flat out TOLD a pit crew member to get the pen so he could sign my shirt.  The pen was in the top drawer of the crash cart.  Afterwords this race fan gained respect for him beyond his driving skills.

Thanks Rico

edit and a quick ps.  I really like watching down the front stretch from on top of the grass hill at Millstream.

I'll not soon forget Rico's skill when seeing his ability to notice it and bang his RR into the cushion build up on the wall at the end of the front stretch.  Then accelerating and driving pretty much straight across the apex between one and two, at Millstream was simply amazing.  A couple of drivers following him noticed what he was doing and tried it.  But they could not compare to his ability to put his RR on the wall and go.  I attribute his being able to do what I saw, to his experience in winged outlaw karts growing up.  I personally think the skill you see from him is the result of him being able to take a 410 and run it like the high powered winged karts he grew up racing out West.

On a side note if anyone on here did not get to watch Cap Henry at Fort Wayne New Year's, you missed a great show put on by another young gentleman driver.  Next weekend is a toss up decision of either going out east to a kart swap meet or going to the pig barn to watch fast kart "Open Wheel" racing action.  If you ain't never seen kart racing indoors on a fast rosin/coke syrup track, your in for a treat.

Ds2. Do you have SEAT tickets for the chilli bowl ?  Listening to Dave Despain, the seating area is a sell out and has been for years. That one is on my bucket list. I'd like to go and watch the Micro/Mini sprints then stay the week for the Midgets. My question is ? do the pit crew guys get seating in the main arena or do they have to watch from the closed circuit tv feed ? At my age it would be very disappointing to be behind a concrete pillar as some are.

Hopefully, weather dependent, this year I am going to be able to get to the WoO and Lucas races in Georgia. I did the WoO at Screven last year. Bad fast little race track. I just wish the sprint cars would stop also.

If you show up Monday or Tuesday there are plenty of people selling tickets out front. They are only allowed to sell them at face value, or they lose the rights to the seats. If you buy a pit pass, you can sit on the back stretch. The only problem are the fumes are bad.

Met Rico at Knoxville this year, he is truly a class act, is fun to talk to, and can really wheel a sprint.
