Tri-City Raceway Park
Announces
2017 Event Dates

Guys Mills, PA --  A new year is underway and with it comes the release of the 2017 Tri-City Raceway Park schedule.

"Mark, Sam and I are extremely pleased with the support we have received and continue to receive from everyone since we purchased and reopened the raceway," commented co-promoter Chad Wagner.  "Our events have been very well received by area businesses and residents as well as the race teams and race fans and we appreciate their support as well as their feedback.  Fans should note that the Allegheny Sprint Tour 305 Sprints, 410 Sprints and a Demo Derby are on the 2017 schedule as a result of this feedback."

One important change for 2017 is that Tri-City Raceway Park will have rain dates for most the events scheduled.  "The race teams and fans voiced their disappointment when Mother Nature forced us to cancel events so we have raindates for many of this season's events, stated Wagner.  "While the major sanctioning bodies cannot provide us with raindates for their events, we were able to work with the regional sanctioning bodies to obtain alternative dates."  The 2017 raindates are noted on the schedule below.

Please note that the speedway telephone number for both at the office and the track have been changed to (814) 795-0718.  In addition the track office mailing address is now 29770 Lyona Road, Guys Mills, PA 16327.

Tri-City Raceway Park will host five oval track events in 2017 as well as two USA-East sanctioned Truck and Tractor Pulls.  The 2017 racing season will kick off on Sunday, May 14th.  The Mother's Day racing card will feature the Allegheny Sprint Tour Racesaver 305 Sprints, the RUSH Modifieds, E-Mods and Vintage Modifieds.

The month of June will see the popular Truck and Tractor Pulls return on Saturday, June 3rd.  The RUSH Late Models will headline the Father's Day racing action on Sunday, June 18th as the Bill Emig Memorial will return to the raceway for the second consecutive year.  In addition to the RUSH Late Models, the 410 Sprints, Racesaver 305 Sprints and RUSH Modifieds will also be in action.

Tony Stewart's Arctic Cat All-Star Circuit of Champions Sprints will return to the raceway on Sunday, July 23rd as part of the Second Annual I-79 Summer Shootout.  The I-79 Summer Shootout will once again feature three days of ASCOC action as Eriez Raceway will host the All-Stars on Friday, July 21st.  The Series' will then travel to Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway on Saturday, July 22nd before concluding their weekend at the Venango County oval.  The RUSH Late Models and Vintage Modifieds are also on the racing card that evening at the raceway.  Support classes at the Eriez Speedway and Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway will be announced by those facilities.

The RUSH Manufacturers Night will headline the August 20th racing program along with the UEMS E-Mods, Allegheny Sprint Tour Racesaver 305 Sprints and Pro-Stocks.

The popular Applefest for the Pro-Stocks will be held on Sunday, September 10th.  This year's event will once again be sanctioned by the Homak Penn-Ohio Pro-Stock Series and the main event will be 50 laps.  The Allegheny Sprint Tour Racesaver 305 Sprints and RUSH Modifieds will also be in action.  Fans should also note that a Demo Derby will conclude the evening's action.

The final event at the speedway will once again be the USA-East Truck Pull Finale, which will take place on Saturday, September 30th.

Drivers will be required to pay a $25.00 one-time registration fee when competing at the raceway in 2017.  Please note that this fee will not apply for the Sprint car competitors competing in the July All-Star Circuit of Champions event, Late Model or Sportsman Modified competitors competing in RUSH Touring Series events or E-Mod competitors competing in the UEMS sanctioned event.

Yea, I was somewhat surprised to. No big block mods ? Glad to see the vintage mods getting track time. Yes it's more for guys to get out there cars they at one time may have owned or was a fan. I hope that extra 1 time 25.00 pit fee doesn't keep guys away. The way I read it is, no rush or all star guys have to. ??

I applaud these promotors for keeping the track active. It's obvious they are being very cautious as to what they are scheduling. I can't say but I hope there making the right decisions by eliminating SLM and the big block guys. One would think that with the schedule they have released you would want to see the headline classes instead of being rush heavy.

I also agree that I will never go to the track without seeing super late models on the schedule. So unfortunately count me out also from ever making the trip.

Kind of bummed... home track and love it there but looks like mostly rush this year and well, from a spectator point of view it isn't very exciting... a lot of follow the leader as the limit in HP just doesn't seem to allow the cars to pull. Anyhow, best of luck this season...

Rush races are profit races for a track. Low payouts and high back gate fees is why more tracks are scheduling them ie. Ppms.lernerville.ect

maybe all the great racestud promoters on here could put their own money up for a purse so the late models can race there? You should go to the races to see good racing. To say you won't go to a track because this or that class isn't racing seems silly. I remember when people said the stocks would die at Lernerville when they switched to a crate rule. Looks to me like once again the racestud know it alls were way off the mark. Imagine that.

Why should we put our money up? It isn't our business. They put out a schedule, and some people voiced displeasure because there are no SLM or BB Mod programs. From the comments, I guess these folks will simply spend their money somewhere else. It's a free country, whether you think their reasons are silly or not. I might go to the ASCoC show, but that would be it. 88 miles to watch a RUSH program? No thanks. I wouldn't drive 88 feet to watch it. That's just me.

And Lernerville's Stocks? Who cares? Those teams made a bunch of noise, then they all fell in line like a bunch of Lemmings. If they get screwed, it serves them right. Either way, I get home a half hour early.

Skull I believe you were one of the main people saying the stocks would fail. I'm sure it was a blow to your know it all self that you were wrong. The stocks are as healthy as ever and will continue to be that way no matter what you or anyone else believes.

Lets face it, either you follow the rules or you quit like greencar55. Most will bite their tongue and spend the money to go race and not quit. Yes they will bitch, but they will all come around.

Skull I believe you were one of the main people saying the stocks would fail. I'm sure it was a blow to your know it all self that you were wrong. The stocks are as healthy I will not support crate racing in general and anything involving Vikki Emig in particular.as ever and will continue to be that way no matter what you or anyone else believes.

Yep, I was one of the main people, and I was very vocal about it. I owned it then as I am owning it now. But, I had talked to people, and I really believed that there was going to be a major mutiny by most of the long time supporters of the division. I was wrong. Most ended up racing there anyway....good for them. They want to race there that bad, it's their home track, they can't sell their stuff, blah, blah, blah, whatever. To me, to an extent, it showed a lack of integrity. Not the fact that they ended up with crate engines, the fact that they bitched and moaned about it, made it sound so personal, all the while garnering support, and then basically said, "Nevermind".

I go to watch the Sprints, BB Mod's and SLM's in that order. I only went to specifically watch the Stocks when they used to have the Pandemonium at the end of the season. I used to stay to watch the Stocks because they put on a great show. Now, if they get fifty cars, I don't care. If there is a 20 lap ten car battle for the lead every week, again, I don't care.

I don't know if you're a fan, a driver, an owner or a crew member. If crate racing does it for you, and apparently that's the case, that's great, wonderful. I happen to think it is rotting local racing from the inside out, and I'm not alone in that assessment, but whatever. I refuse to support anything crate related, especially if that witch is involved, bottom line.

So in conclusion, if you and others that are crate-centric want to sit there and take your pot shots at me, go for it, because I'm tired of talking about it; it's a waste of time. I don't have to go to the races around here. Central Pa. is not that far.

I find it weird that a track that has modifieds as a major part of it's history chooses not to run modifieds. Doesn't seem like the best business decision to me, but I'm not paying the bills.
