State of Lernerville Sprint Cars

With that being said I have seen where several drivers are following tours or racing elsewhere. The drivers I have seen (Brandon Spithaler, John Garvin, Carl Bowser, Brandon Matus). That's only 3 out of the top 10 in points and 4 out of the top 15.
You also have Scott Priester who retired and does Brent Matus follow his son on the All Stars?
So what impact does that have on the class at Lernerville? Does it invite outsiders that avoided the competition or does it just hurt overall or no impact?
54 different Sprint's got points last year at the track but you are losing some quality rides.
Does this leave it a Flick and Sideman battle for the championship or does another driver enter the picture?
Just thought it would be an interesting topic to be debated.

How many cars they get this year will depend more then other years on, how easy and cost effective they make it on racers. The same with all classes there.

That can be said with the fans also. The track was excellent almost all of last yr. Which kept the racing great and fans coming back week after week. I know I only missed a few due to work, but my attendance was up from past yrs due to great racing.

I agree with you about last year. The year before most of the time when I left the track there my car was covered with dirt no worse then Mercer. The track was much better this past year for this spectator. It was noticeably improved over the year before. Hats off to the track personnel and who ever was in charge this past year.

It was the same people who have done it for yrs. Dan,Chad, ect. Normally when they have large corporate outings the track will be dust free most of the night as Gary once told me this. The big wigs of sponsors didn't want all the dust over their stuff out front and their employees that have never been to a dirt race.

Heard that Rod George is coming back will he be a replacement to some of the better teams leaving or is he part time?
Last I heard Rod was going to be in one of Cory Good's cars. Not sure on the status of that now.

He might be if Matus isn't there, so he doesn't junk his car again.

Eric will not be racing this year as he is still having problems with his eye from last year's crash. He has accepted a management roll at Mercer and will be active there this year.
GOOD RACING!!!

A.J.Flick is rumored to be running out east this year. Ken Rossey is looking for a 410 to run this year.

I'm not taking anything away from these guys. They are spending their own money and should do what they want. Garvin improved a lot through the year, but he's only a second year sprint driver. Brandon was a 3rd to 5th place car most of the year. It's an expensive deal to travel to the other side of Ohio and run 18th. Bowser had nights that he was really fast. Some nights he wasn't. If you have a chance to run someone else equipment you have to take it, but you can run the wheels off a car at Port Royal and end up 12th. We will just have to see how it goes.

Being a big sprint car fan, I have made the choice to travel more into Ohio and central Pa.for big shows rather than taking in local western Pa. racing. It is 1 1/2 hours to get to Lernerville for me which helps with my decision. All this considered Lernerville seems to always get a good car count for sprints, some are not the fastest or best funded but they look good down there. I think they will be fine with the car count. If I was closer I would be there more often, I can be at Tri-City in 10 min. wish they had a more aggressive schedule.
