Well, it was nice seeing some SLM get around that place last night. It is amazing how as soon ass these cars are unloaded in today's racing they get turned around and covered up immediately. I found it interesting that some had covers for the rear spoilers as soon as the cars trailer door opened. As for the rears, suspension, forget it. They had the cars backed up so tight to the trailers there was no way in hell anyone was going to see anything. Thesse cars aare becoming so right front dependent on corner entry it is amazing.

The racing for the most part was good until the second b-main came rolling out. Traack got locked down on the bottom and it was nothing more than follow the leader the rest of the night. The longhorns were fast as were the Xr-1 machines. BMjr. was fast all night, he had the deal won if not for the incident with bloomquist.

Boom Briggs, was the only local guy that made the A believe he came home 9th. Surprised to see Chubbzilla not there ? Satterlee was fast of the trailer, he slid hi in 3 and lost a couple positions and that ended his night. Flinner, all the guys that dish on this guy, he was following EPJ up thru his B-main and was doing well. They have NO horsepower. Listenning to his motor bogging down in qualifying hurt his starting spot big time, but, as the track went to shit again he was following EPJ picking them off one by one. This kid was doing everything he could but the horsepower is costing them.

The track sucked. Bradon Overton was fast. I like Bloomquist as much as anyone, but, if you don't make the MANDATORY drivers meeting, hot laps, nothing. Then he should not have gotten the provisional. Even after tagging the B, he couldn't get out of his own way, the team new it, he new it. After the B they put fuel in the car and did not pass a single car in the A. EPJ started behind him and at least advanced some positions. Hopefully night 2 is a better track and bloomquist gets there on time.

Was the track dry and slick?

Hot laps thru I would say heat race #3 the track had multiple grooves. After that it was locked down to the bottom, anybody that slid off the bottom was getting passed. Some, EPJ being one of them, had enough motor to get a nose under someone coming out of the corner and if you didn't chop him off going in then you where going to lose a spot or spots.

According to the drivers interviewed on DoD, they moved the infield out about 15 feet and that's what caused the issue with passing last night.

Well, night 2 started great. They dumped enough water on the track to flood a small city. Hot Laps started over a hour late. They had 2 rows of race cars all the way around the speedway trying to get it packed down. Bloomquist was out being a pack rat. Well, all this lasted until about heat #4, then just like night 1 it became locked down on the bottom and a 1 groove racetrack.

Don O'neal's son is going to be a superstar. 16. Heat 3 and held off 3 of the top SLM to take the win. Don and his wife sat beside us in the stands, the kid came under the checkered flag and you could see both parents beaming. Don gave it his fist pump, was nice to see that.

Kid rocket shoot out at the green and was lapping cars on lap 6. The track got so 1 groove, that I believe he only lapped 4 cars at best, he couldn't get off the bottom to try to move around them on top. Bloomquist was a straight away back and finished 2nd but it was nothing more than follow me racing. Hopefully Screven's track is better next weekend.

Gregg Saterlee may have 1 less car. He went bouncing off the tops of cars, almost went over, Got to see the backend of one of these new Xr-1 rockets. As did many others in the pits. I wonder what Mark Richards was thinking ? Cover it maybe ! for sure they are different than what I have seen. Colton Flinner had issue's in hot laps and never made it back out. He is definitely down on HP. Boom Briggs didn't fair much better, in fact the Longhorns did not seem to preform as well as night 1.

The place was packed. The pits were packed. In the pits is were I normally watch the races from. I have never seen a speedway that permitted so much open drinking in the pits as I have the last 2 nights. Beer, not in cans but bottles, everywhere. Quite a few by feature time where well on there way to sleeping  there. I really didn't get that. All in all it was good to see a new racetrack, the racing could have been better.
