With no alternator, obviously I have to charge the battery in my car all the time. Besides installing a kit with a small alternator (I know these are out there) does anyone have any clever solutions besides dragging a trickle charger out with an extension chord all the time?

If you're not using an alternator you should at least be using a deep cell marine battery. Constant charging and discharging of a regular car battery greatly shortens its life and just won't put out like a deep cell. With no alternator, obviously I have to charge the battery in my car all the time. Extend the wires on the charger with a cut extension cord using the male end. connect the female end to the battery. Now you can leave the charger in the trailer and just pull the cord out to plug it in. Much less hassle and aggravation.
