Are you staying at the track or near by? Have reserved seats already?

The dream is cool, one of the "smaller" big races Eldora hosts. Best part of the Dream or World100 is usually the Saturday heat races, especially when the field is big.

your first visit ? you will never get to understand why you waited so long. The place is a speed palace, you won't get the chance to do this one anymore. My first trip there, 70's, we stood on the infield wall as the sprint cars went past us. My second trip the world 100, a heat race, the cars had those lexan side boards. I don't recall who but there was a tangle coming down the back straightaway and one of those panels looked like a dam Frisbee coming at us. A lot of people were diving out of the way, me included. Camping can get outta hand sometimes, I would say, keep a open mind. Jack Daniels took over 1 night and we buried a guy. He was passed out, so we packed dirt all around him and laid cornstalks on top of him with just his head showing, wow that was a party I paid for the next day. What a frickin headache. Another trip a "gentleman" was a little upset over the noise as he tried to sleep. His coach was getting mudded. Well I guess not knowing how to stop it, he opened the door and the lady he was with got pushed out with the smallest see thru nighty on you would not believe. Silence. I guess she must have figured what the hell, off came the nighty and she sat in on the fire with many a mouth wide open. The mudding stopped. Enjoy your trip. Pennsboro camping ? that's another story in itself...

I will be staying at the track and have yet to get tickets. I will probably get reserved tickets... I like to sit by the flag stand.

Jo73.. that reminds me of the Firecracker camping a few years ago. The races got rained out and a woman decided to strip down and let many men have a taste of her bits.. it was a sight. Then, at night time, there was a trailer set up for a wet t-shirt contest that got out of hand and ended when the cops showed. The final act of the night was a guy taking the keys out of the cop car's ignition and throwing them into the darkness! Good times..

Unfortunately it only takes one a-hole to bring people back to the real world. There are hundreds of stories out there. What ended the lay overs for us was the untimely Challenger incident. The cops/security used to sit back and as long as it was confined to a area and it did not bleed out were they lost control it was game on. MUD tug a wars. LOL.

If you don't have tickets I doubt you'll be able to find anything by the flag stand, everything under the covered stands will be sold out unless you go low. I prefer to sit in turn 4.. Turn 1/2 not bad but it feels like those stands are a mile from the track.

Prepare to pack clothes for all 4 seasons. I've had to run to the Celina Walmart during the Dream before to buy more clothes after getting drenched and frozen.

About 5 miles south of the track is a bar /grill called the Whistle Stop. They sponsor Sheldon Haudenschild and have decent food. Going north is St. Henry and Coldwater... I always said if I was going to live in a little farm town itd be one of those.
