Man those outlaw mods look wicked fast... other than the sail panels, is there any difference than standard BB mods? Do they turn faster lap times? Short track looks awesome as well...

There isn't any real difference, in fact some of those guys are running small blocks.

Brad Rapp won with the same car he runs on the modified tour in the season opener up there. Pull the weight off, buy some Racers, button on some sail panels and go racing. Some of them run big small blocks but if you do that you're pigeon holed into only running outlaw style tracks.

Sail panels tend to increase corner speeds by a bunch, although they also tend to tighten the cars up some.

They were mostly an East Windsor creation, back when Windsor had their seriously open rules (alcohol injected small blocks, no weight limits and drag rubber) anymore, they're just extra pieces of sheet metal bolted to the quarters.

walked by a red car at PPMS saturday night and they were bolting on a set of those sail panels, even had one that ran along the back edge of the roof that tied the taller sides into a spoiler..short time later it had all been taken back off.
guess they thought "Outlaw" Mods advertised meant anything goes..?

That's interesting if they advertised anything goes but made them take sail panels off.
