I agree virgin dirt. If this wasn't a done deal I doubt it would be covered by every major news paper in the city.

It sucks but the drivers need to know and plan accordingly. And other tracks need to start thinking about what divisions they want to run next year. 15-20 Crates and 10-15 stocks will be looking for new homes or selling next year. Seems like it's more of a rubber stamp for the industrial zoning than asking the township to pay millions for residential development.

I recall an article in the same paper last year about the track being sold to a house developer. That was proven false. I will believe it when it actually happens.

It shouldn't be that hard to comprehend. If the zoning change goes through so will the sale. If it doesn't, the sale doesn't. Last year NF didn't approve the land for mixed use. The land didn't sell. What is so hard to understand about this?

Developers routinely put sale contingencies in their deals. Nothing different here. The fact there are meetings scheduled tells me it's legit.

My next trip up is late July old man d. Virgin, you actually covered my point. NF, had a developer that was willing to purchase the land if they would rezone the property. They turned the proposal down. Do you realize the income they basically said we don't want or was it don't need ? Being a residential area would have generated a much larger tax benefit for the township. Know with it basically being a commercial development the financial investors are going to approach the township for a tax break. ANY development property my equipment was on one of the first thing discussed was a break. Be it 1,3,5 or 7yrs. So let's wait for NF before we tell racers were to go. I doubt if the Miley's were very happy when the township turned down the first development.

Jo- not to start an argument but the taxes and amusement taxes are actually much higher than residential. And the township doesn't have to support families and schooling when zoned industrial. This is the opposite situation unfortunately for racers.

virgin. it is proven that the greatest ammount of income to a twp or whatever you care to call it is residential use of land in this type of land area. that sports complex is a HIGH risk endeavor. Residential is also but at a much lower risk. As for the amusement tax, you got me on that, but for what there planning I'm not sure that falls under the same catagory. PPMS i'm sure is paying that tax.

That article is exactly what journalism should provide .. : factual information left for the reader to make a judgement ! But when someone says " It must be true " in their own mind of some further conclusion ASSUMED ! That sends me thru the roof as Sodomite journalism ( like what we saw during the Tony Stewart Press trial " and what we see the Sodomites doing on CNN / new York times Washington post etc etc shaping Obvious ASSUMERS opinions and Undermining AMERICA with Fake Fascist Journalism .... It needs Killed in its tracks!

So to the guy above ... YES IT IS TRUE !!! there was a township meeting !!!! NOTHING MORE THAN THAT !

ps

If you want to know when the track is sold !! walk over to the smiling lady at the gate selling programs and ask her " mom did you get a big fat check yet ? """ and she will tell you !! and then you WILL KNOW FOR SURE !!! and wont have to ASSUME every year since 1979!

pps the " sports complex"  has to get approval ... and then they have to offer real money ... but most likely will try to sell the old ... just give it to us because kids will get to play soccer ! SO that aint gonna fly either !  SO Lets go Racin for 20 more years until Hillary finally gets in and Bans turning passenger cars into racecars witch would be happening RIGHT NOW  if things were different!

pps

the sports complex on Neville Island owned now by Robert morris college was Gifted to them by a Woman who went to the twp meetings and stated " you raise my taxes one more time and you will never see another one !! " They did anyways and she immediately gifted the property to a NON TAXABLE authority ! The mileys will keep having fun with their land until someone drops a big bag of money in their laps and Who Can Blame them ! I assume when that happens we will se Jared on the Lucas tour

 So Add to the headlines

" Track MAY be developed as a Sports complex "

"Jared MAY BE set to run the Lucas Series the day after "

AN EXCLUSIVE by DavyLee Reporting

and you can take that to the bank! for a complimentary mint !

You better watch out for the "Sodomites."  Now that you're a journalist, they'll be after you.

I tend to think that if Jared went national touring he'd go WoO racing. Four races at a home track vs. no races at a home track. Plus, he's tight with the Rocket gang and we all know who really runs the WoO.

One thing race fans have going for them that the track will not sell is when you get off the highway the whole trip from the highway to the track looks like a dump.

Drive through a dump industrial area to get to a multi million dollar sports complex?  Not a very good place for upscale sports enthusiasts to spend their time.  I can't see beamers, porches lining up at the highway exit.  Is there enough Swickley grade income within close driving distance to support it?

In real estate isn't it location, location and location?

Aside from being on the west side of 95 and in the general area of the future growth of the Pittsburgh area especially with the new highway from the airport, the land has no location value or curb appeal for high end customers because of it's dingy front door
