I am currently on vacation in the South, and had the good fortune to see the United Speed Contest Sanction 360 Sprints (USCS) last evening.  Lancaster Super Speedway, about 35 or so miles south of Charlotte, NC., on U.S. 521, is a large half mile paper clip track, similar to Hagerstown and Williams Grove, with longer, wider straights, and wider and much higher banked turns.  To say that this track is fast is an understatement.  They had three different classes of street stocks, including a modified version which they called Super Stocks, and even those cars were extremely quick.  I'm not sure of the laps times, and could not find any results on Race Monitor or MyLaps, but those Sprints were "bad" fast.  A couple of these Sprint cars I had seen before in Central Pa.  There were 16 cars in attendance and the results were as follows:

1.      Scott Hunter (1X)

2.      Robbie Stillwaggon (89)

3.      Jordan Mallett (14)

4.      Eric Riggins (47)

5.      Lance Moss (23) who won the night before at Carolina Speedway in Gastonia, NC

6.      Terry Gray (10)

7.      Morgan Turpin (10M) a young lady who has won 8 fetures this year, she was very fast

8.      Tanner Winterspoon (99)

10.     Joe Larkin (33)

11.     Bob Auld (83)

12.     Jamie Winterspoon (43)

13.     Dan Jones (8)

14.     Nathan Emig (58)

15.     Brian Thomas (67x)

16.     Jake McLain (67)

They also had a Vintage Division which consisted of Late Model type cars we would have seen in the late 60s and early 70s in Pgh., such as a 63 Fairlaine, 57 Chevy, 70 Chevelle, a 62 full-sized Pontiac,  and several Novas such as the 83 Reno-Minton car that Dave Hoffman drove at one time,  Their headlining division is Crate Late Models (which had the night off), but the Carolina Clash visits the track two times a year, and they feature Outlaw Late Models for special shows.  If you're in the Charlotte area on a Saturday night, drive down to this track for a good racing experience.  General admission is usually $12, but for the Sprints last night it was $20.  The only downside of the program, the front stretch lights went out after th 4 Cyl Feature, and it took over an hour to get them back on.
