Good luck that is the Steel City Stampede weekend. Any track that tries to run against the event is just stupid I believe.

well in your post you mentioned HUGE.  So that just shows how promotors don't work together. That time of year and you book the same date. Makes no sense whatsoever.

I don't think they'll effect each other, like, at all. The Stampede doesn't really attract the central and northern PA cars that hit Clinton County, and the western PA cars don't really tow out to Clinton County's super shows.

BaconBits is right on here!!   I see no conflict based on the drivers who have attended the Stampede at Lernerville over the years!!

GOOD RACING!!!

The Stampeded is NOT a big late model event, a $3000 to win show over 2 days is not very special.

It's more about it being the last race of the year in our local area. Everybody hangs out with each other and has a good time camping.

Unless Clinton County puts together a real big race payout their race won't be that special either. This years "big" $5000 to win race that was rained out was $1100 for 2nd and $200 to start. That takes top heavy payout to the extreme.

I could never figure out why these tracks have those top heavy purses, there can only be 1 winner, why give them all the money and everyone else goes home with maybe enuff to pay for there expenses,

And you can still do that, there are never any Central PA cars at the Stampede.  The only problems is fans can't see both races, if they're so inclined. It's a pretty good hike from the Pittsburgh area to Lock Haven, but I hope to get up there some day.

All I know jo73 is that they're saying it's going to be something really special and the way it sounded to me was that it might be the biggest late model purse ever payed out at Clinton so time will tell and I do agree with others on here that the Stampede will not hurt Clinton County or visa versa....

Well if as many are saying that teams from that area do not attend the Stampede then, I'm wrong. I do,t follow individuals that close anymore and seeing the head to head date just doesn't make sense to me. Hope they have a good turnout because you bet lernerville will.

There's never been very many central PA cars at the Firecracker. Off the top, the only local cars from that area I can really think of that ever came are Chris Casner, Coleby Frye, Justin Kann, and Jason Schmidt.

I get that it's in the middle of the month this year, and maybe I'm completely wrong, but wasn't the stampede always at the end of the month? I always think of it being around Halloween. Been a couple years since I've gone, so maybe it's changed or maybe it was just later when I went for some reason.

They moved it forward last year, which makes sense. Now they have the end of October to reschedule if necessary.

My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

Because the goal of racing is to win, and the winner is traditionally rewarded for doing so.  Since you're thinking from the perspective of making money, what's the motivation to advance through the field if there's not more money to be made by doing so?

If at first you don't succeed, then maybe you just suck.
