A “SEPTEMBER TO REMEMBER” FOR THE HOMAK PENN OHIO PRO STOCK CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES!

August 27, 2017 (Sandy Lake, PA) The Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Championship Series will have an action packed month of September with five races. Three races will pay $1,000 to-win, while the other two will pay at least $2,000 to-win. Each race will have Series’ drivers competing for the Touring Series Point Championship, as well as a five race point chase deemed “Timber Lake Lodge September Shoot-out” worth $1,500 to-win.
The Series will kick off the month with a $1,000 to-win show on Sunday, September 3rd at Dog Hollow Speedway located at 76 Hamill Road, Northern Cambria, PA 15714. In addition to the Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stocks, the Super Late Models, Super V6 Late Models, 270 Micro Sprints, and Vintage will be part of the Sunday Labor Day Special. Pit gates will open at 3 pm, grandstands at 4:30, pill cut off at 5:30, driver’s meeting at 5:40, hot laps at 5:45 and racing at 6. Drivers will go from Dog Hollow to a racing “Applefest” weekend at Sharon Speedway on Friday, September 8 to Saturday, September 9 and at Tri City Raceway Park on Sunday, September 10. The event at Sharon Speedway will have heat races on Friday and a 25 lap $2,000 to-win A Main on Saturday. Sunday’s event at Tri City will be a 50 lap race with at least $2,000 to-win at stake.
The following weekend the Series’ will make an appearance at Lernerville Speedway to participate in the Autumn Motive Fest on Saturday, September 16. The event will be a $1,000 to-win competition. To round out the month of September, a trip to McKean County for the MCR Fall Classic on Saturday September 30th will be in order paying $1,000 to-win.
A registration fee of $25 for $1,000 to-win shows and $35 for any event paying more than $1,000 to-win will be collected from all drivers each race. The Homak Penn Ohio registration fee will give all drivers an opportunity at multiple contingency prizes including Hoosier tires presented by Precise Racing and Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic, American Racer tires presented by Lias Tire, hard charger awards presented by Shaffer’s Auto & Exhaust, Dirt Diggin’ Chassis, and Redline Performance & Machine Race Engines; and Big Daddy’s $25 gift certificate.
Homak Penn Ohio Touring Series drivers will be eligible for a variety of additional contingency prizes: racing rims donated by SS Chassis, cases of oil donated by Les Frickshun, hood scoops or wheel covers donated by Dirt Defender, racing products donated by Precise Racing, gift certificates donated by Close Racing, Genesis Shocks, Schoenfeld Headers, ARbodies, Big Daddy’s Speed Center, Precise Racing Products, and Wedge Motorsports.
In addition to the point chases, prize money, and contingency prizes, Series’ drivers will have an opportunity at a Homak tool box to be given away at Sharon Speedway’s Applefest, as well as Homak tool carts awarded at Tri City Raceway’s Applefest and Lernerville Speedway’s Autumn Motive Fest. Drivers will earn one chance for each Series’ race participated in with bonus five chances for participating at Dog Hollow, additional three chances for participation in the Sharon Applefest and three chances for participating in the Tri City Applefest.
Drivers can still join the Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Championship Series for a chance to compete for the $1,500 to-win “Timber Lake Loge September Shootout” point chase as well as the contingency prizes given at each race and the banquet. The 2017 registration fee to become a Series’ member is $200 and registration forms are available on the website.
