He survives the carnage!!  26 start.....11 finish.   If you overlook the several red flag accidents that blocked the track, and only 1 tow truck,  the racing between Powell, Blose, and Lake was the best SLM racing all summer.  Eck didn't make it thru the second yellow.  Was very upset at someone!  not going to speculate who.  maybe someone has some facts.  He was in a close point battle with Powell Jr that I assumed he lost.  Powell spun in turn 4 later in race battling with Blose and Lake, went tail then fought way back to second place finish.  Lake had flat while leading with 13 to go.

Or a better plan for clearing the track.

If at first you don't succeed, then maybe you just suck.

So, anyone got a hook or a rollback, and want to volunteer? I'll bet they won't turn you down if you can present yourself professionally. If they're working as hard as it sounds like they are, it would be a good contribution to racing.

My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.
