I'd love to go but will probably be at Lernerville's Stampede much closer to home.

Didn't you notice he said "much closer to home"??   There are only a small amount of fans who can go chasing races some 6-10 hours away on a regular basis!!   Takes money and maybe no wife, family or even a job!!

GOOD RACING!!!!

Walt

I live 22 miles from Lernerville, 167 miles from Lock Haven.  One half hour vs. three hours, seems like a no-brainer to me.

Should have said 3 to 5 hours!!    Still the premise is correct!!    I live about 18 miles from Lernerville and my thinking is the same.

I agree RocketRide,I'd rather drive 3 hrs to Clinton than go to the Stampede even if it was in my back yard, but like Walt said it all depends on the funds...I'm 2 hrs to Clinton compared to 2 1/2 to Lernerville and it's a no-brainer for me that I'll be at Clinton...Much racier track and great atmosphere...With that good purse they should pull in cars from all directions...I don't no what The Stampede is paying for the late model portion but I wouldn't be surprised if Clinton pulls in a few of Lernerville's cars...

It might be where everybody will be at raceover5 if you live closer to Lernerville but for my money if you lived somewhere in the middle of the tracks Clinton County IMO will be a much better race if you're going to watch super lates that day...

Even from a fan perspective if you had the chance to go to Clinton you'd see a more competitive race IMO...Lernerville isn't the racey track it once was compared to Clinton County with a great track to race on and very competitive....If you've never been there I advise you to check it out on the Oct. 14th if you can make it....

Didn't know that CHEVY1A... But the way I look at it all 3 tracks,Lernerville,Clinton County and Hagerstown are all in different locations distance wise and I think all 3 will draw good car counts because they all got good roads leading into the tracks and can draw cars from different directions....I guess it's all where they wanna race at but ya know the guys that usually run those tracks regular will probably stay there unless they wanna try something different?....JMO....

I'm sure Clinton County is a nice facility (it's on my bucket list to visit) and the new management seems to be doing a good job, however, to say that Lernerville isn't the racy track it once was is just nonsense.  I attended nearly every race at Lernerville this year (and other than the Firecracker), the track was very racy.  Rarely did the winners come from the front row.  Mat Williamson came from 12th or farther back to win the lion's share of the Big Block Mod features.  It's nice to be a booster of you home town track, but don't play fast and loose with the facts. Another reason I will be attending the Stampede (other than the obvious mileage difference) is to see the many divisions that take part in the program.  I hope Clinton Co. does well with their big race as I'm sure they will.
