APPLEFEST WEEKEND FOR HOMAK PENN OHIO PRO STOCKS TO BEGIN FRIDAY & SATURDAY AT SHARON SPEEDWAY

AND END ON SUNDAY AT TRI CITY RACEWAY PARK!

For Immediate Release

September 6, 2017 (Sandy Lake, PA) The month of September is certainly a busy month for the Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Championship Series.  With one race in and four more to go, the drivers have a lot of racing heading their way.  Friday and Saturday, September 8th and 9th, will kick off this weekend’s Applefest events beginning at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio.  Drivers will then make the tow to Franklin, PA to compete in Tri City's 50-lap Applefest race on Sunday, September 10th

Friday’s tentative agenda at Sharon will have pit gates open at 3 p.m., pill cut off at 5:15, driver’s meeting at 5:20.  The Homak Penn Ohio pro stocks are scheduled for hot lap qualifying and 8-lap heat races.  Saturday’s event will have last chance B Mains and a 25 lap feature paying $2,000 to-win, $150 to start.

Pit gates for Sunday’s Tri City event will be open all day for early arrivals.  Everyone in the pits needs to report to the pit gate for an arm band at 1:45 p.m.  The driver’s meeting will occur at 2:45 and pill cut off at 3:00.  Pro stock drivers will run group qualifying hot laps and 8-lap heat races.  If needed, B Mains will give drivers one last chance at advancing to the A Main.  Winners of the heats will participate in a dash.  The Homak Penn Ohio feature will be 50 laps, with all laps (green/yellow) counting until the last 25 (green), and pays $2,000 to-win, $200 to start.

Thanks to the hard work of Bobby Whitling #7W and to all those who contributed lap sponsorship, extra money has been added to Sunday’s feature payout as well as monetary awards going to the fastest qualifier, heat race winners, dash winner, hard charger, and hard luck.

A $35 registration fee will be charged to all drivers for each event.  The Homak Penn Ohio registration fee will give all drivers an opportunity at multiple contingency prizes.  Series’ members will have an opportunity to win a Homak toolbox through a random drawing at Saturday’s Sharon event; and a Homak tool cart through a random drawing at Sunday’s Tri City event.
