Carnesville, Georgia – Brent Hilton of Rural Retreat, VA beat the field to the checkered flag Sunday, September 3rd at Wythe Raceway. After the race, Hilton’s engine was protested. FASTRAK founder Stan Lester and National Tech Director Brad Hibbard met at NDM Machine in Wytheville, VA on Wednesday morning to complete the engine tear down to ensure its legality. The engine was torn down, all the way to the crankshaft being removed. Hilton’s engine was determined to be 100% legal to the FASTRAK rule book.
Tire samples, as they are at all FASTRAK Racing Series events, were also taken from Hilton. The tire test results were received by the FASTRAK corporate office Wednesday morning. The sample conformed to the manufacturer’s benchmark.
Now that the engine protest is complete and tire test results were received, Brent Hilton is officially declared the winner of the 14th Annual Pro Late Model Nationals. The win is Hilton’s first career FASTRAK Racing Series victory.
Up next for the FASTRAK Racing Series is the 2017 World Challenge and World Championship at Virginia Motor Speedway on September 15th and 16th. The FASTRAK members-only World Challenge pays $5,000 to win and the World Championship, open to all Pro Late Model Teams, pays $20,000 to win.
