Record Setting Stock Car Race Announced

August 17, 2017 (Sandy Lake, PA) The Homak Penn Ohio Stock Car Series Director, Shaun Hooks and Sharon Speedway General Manager, Dave Willoughby are pleased to announce their plans for a huge Stock Car race to take place at Sharon Speedway in 2018. The race will be 75 laps in length and is scheduled for late June of 2018. It will pay a whopping $10,000 to win. It is scheduled to be a time trial show and will follow the format used by the All Star Sprint Series.
“Dave has always been great to work with through the years,” according to Hooks, who has held several series races in the past at the track located just over the Ohio border. “There might have been a little shock initially when I approached him with the idea, but we are both excited about the potential for this event.”
“The racing has been incredible at Sharon Speedway this season,” Willoughby said. “Our new surface has really paid dividends. The race teams love it, and it shows in the way they have supported us. Shaun has done an excellent job building his series the last several years. They often bring 40 or 50 cars to a Series’ event,” said Willoughby. “I don’t know what $10,000 to-win will bring; that’s part of the excitement. We understand that racers and fans have a lot of choices when it comes to what tracks and series they support. We want to continue to bring new and better events to Sharon Speedway.”
As soon as it becomes available, there will be more information released regarding this event such as sponsors, a complete payoff, rules and the scheduled date.
