Sarver, PA (September 16, 2017) Cory McPherson delivered a performance that will be remembered for quite some time as he took two convincing victories in two of the biggest races of the season in the Pro Stock ranks.  The five time track champion took the lead from Tyler Dietz on lap nine and never looked back in his victory in the 25-lap Millerstown Pic-A-Part DIRTcar/RUSH Pro Stock main event.

However, one just wasn't enough for McPherson as he found himself taking an early lead in the Homak Penn-Ohio Pro Stock main event where he used his normal Friday night crate power plant in a field loaded with open motors.  McPherson looked to be in command until the second half of the 25-lap feature when the red hot Andrew Gordon drew even with his back bumper and battled for the lead over the course of the last five laps.  As lapped traffic approached for McPherson, Gordon looked to have a run going with two laps to go as he made a bid for the lead, but McPherson was able to make a well timed move on top of the speedway to get around two lapped cars, leaving them for Gordon to deal with, and managed to hold him off the rest of the way to collect his second victory on the night.

In Allegheny 305 Sprint Tour action, Jonathan Jones kept the leaders close in the early laps, and picked his spot for a well timed pass of leader Jeff Miller on lap nine and pulled away as he navigated lapped traffic nearly flawlessly as he bested the 21 car field on hand. Meanwhile, Chas Wolbert continued his strong season in the RUSH Sportsman Modifieds by making his way through the field with precision and purpose while taking the lead for good on lap seven and checking out on the 25 car field to collect the second Lernerville victory of his career.

Not many people there, but shame on those that stayed home.  Beautiful weather, full fields, good racing and I didn't mind the late finish at all.  Also, I gotta tell ya, I wouldn't mind the 305s running on a more regular basis there.  That Jones kid was flying through 3&4 which was fun to watch.  Cory was in a league of his own tonight.  That Gordon kid has as much money behind him as any three drivers there combined and he couldn't run him down.

Strange to see all the 305 races struggling for car count and 21 being at Lernerville.

I saw they will be at PMS this coming Saturday. Will they even get any to show up? I don't believe that track has ever pulled more than 5 cars in for one of their races.

Only 8 or 9 were local 305 cars.

Most of them were from the 2 local series, what are you talking about?

They were Racesaver cars, NOT Mercer cars!!   Differences in rules pretty much keep them from running with each other and that is a major problem for the class.

I was referring to the different Racesaver groups. The new Allegheny tour is who had the events at Lernerville, Tri City & PPMS this year. Laurel Highlands runs Dog Hollow, Bedford and Hesston. Not sure what banner THunder Mountain is under. PASS runs Port Royal, Susky, Selinsgrove, Path Valley, Williams Grove. MASS runs Grandview, Bridgeport, Georgetown, Delaware Int'l, and Big Diamond. CSRA runs Penn Cann, Thunder Mountain (NY), Five Mile Point, Afton, Albany-Saratoga, and other tracks up that way. Laurel Highlands, PASS, MASS, have some combined shows at Port Royal, the one in October will have over 50 cars.

I didn't realize the Allegheny tour was a racesaver series. Idk what banner TM has either. It just says RaceSaver sprints on their website as a weekly class. Also said that the pay is standard everywhere for that class that runs them weekly.
